Jumps are roughly 6-8" up. The 4th obstacle's name currently(during the rules walkthrough) is 'wall drop'. What a stupid name...the producers need to come up with better names...I'd call it the "Cryptic Conundrum".

From last night, there are LOTS OF RESULTS Spoilers. Be sure you want to read this first Cool 2nd hardest qualifier ever due to the number of clears I believe, with a total of 9. But since most of the fails came on obstacle 5 due to pumping out,(not failing an hourglass drop tramp), i'm gonna go with toughest qualifier ever IMO.
Clears: Anthony Defranco 1:44(top time) Joe Moravsky 2:00(2nd fastest) Geoff Britten Tyler Cravens(2nd wol of the night) Jon Alexis Jamie Rahn Michael Torres Naj Richardson Ryan Stratis
Speed through the wall drop was the cutoff since roughly 30+ ppl failed the wheel(not sure of official name). Most of those ppl failed on the last leg(after the 2nd drop) bc they did not have enough to keep making that huge pull past the plexi and ended up attempting a back/side/frontwards lache into the water.
Top 30 that I can remember(besides clears): Chris Digangi(6th wol) Mike Bernardo Rich Shoemaker Nick Kostrecki Michelle Warnky Alyssa Beird Rachel Goldstein Jesse Labreck(may have been 1 more girl in top 30) Scott Carslaw Chris Wilczewski Mike Soria
My thought is that they'll remove 1 or both plexi panes so the back half actually gets used. [spoiler/]

Thanks for the info! Sounds brutal. Glad that (at least) 4 women made top 30. Is there any way we can get a pick of this ninja killer? Hard to imagine by what people have described. [spoiler/]

{Spoiler}I knew that 5th obstacle would cause problems, with the combination of the length of the obstacle's track making it more physically draining than most obstacles on the back half of any course (which caused me to fail it w/o the Plexiglas the first time I tested it) plus the huge reach with the Plexiglas (caused me to fail it the 2nd time I tried it, I didn't see one of the panes so I reached for something I couldn't grab and fell, which adds more challenge to it since you have to keep track of where the panes are), I had a feeling it'd be largely down to speed past the wall drop. Good to see I was right, plus it means I could potentially get to the next round if I was competing since I got everything else before the wheel, which feels good man.

Wait, so I guess I don't understand the 5th obstacle. It seemed like an easier version of the roulette cylinder because you could grab the wheel as opposed to the nunchuck spokes. But what you're saying is there was plexiglass between some spokes (like a sector of a circle) so you had to reach far to the next part of the wheel? Did Joe, Geoff, or this Anthony Defranco (is he a rock climber??) seem pumped at all or just fine? Thanks for the info!

The wheel had 8 sections, 2 of them had plexiglass blocking a couple of the handles, also the wheel was huge comparatively and a long track make for a brutal combination

Any word on Jessica Britten? Do you know if she made it to the wall fast enough? Also Paul Hamm (if anyone recognized him). But sounds like there weren't any real early exits, so that's good.

Think of doing a roulette cylinder where every 4th move is a max reach pull, then do that 30+ moves, add in 2 drops, + adrenaline pumping you out=Hard as phuk! Climbers failed it. Not speaking for Geoff, but having trained with him extensively, he was slowing down at the end.
Paul Hamm failed the wall drop. Had a bad jump off the tramp and could only grab the log with his palms(think crushing a can with your palms), somehow almost recovered, but slipped off.
Jessica did awesome, got the tramp jump on the wall drop, got a little high on the log, lost some momentum, couldn't quite get the dismount. Sooo close to top 30 [Spoiler/]

There should be like 7-8 finals course clears Hahahahahaha I strongly disagree. Extremely hard course and unless things change from quals I wouldn't be surprised if there are 0 finishers. They're out for you and your cool shirt!

Sooo close to top 30 [Spoiler/] Regarding the nonclears but still top 30, since the Wheel from Hell isn't a luck or technique adjustment like the hourglass drop, do you see many more people getting to the second half of the course besides those who cleared last night?

Obstacle 9 is much harder than what people are going to be expecting who read about it. But even getting to that obstacle is going to be a challenge enough.

I haven't seen any attempts on Ob9, and in fact I didn't even see the bar but only heard the description, but I walked over to take a look at it, the only people saying it's easy haven't looked at it...

Mike Meyers got a straightup bounce on the tramp and could not quite reach the log on the wall drop. Abel dq'd on the paddleboards.
Obstacle 9 only had 3 clears in 2 groups of testing on Thursday. It's draining and tricky sincr you have to be locked off the entire time.[Spoiler/]
