looks like jim north has done the voice over on all the old ninja warrior episodes, watching ninja warrior comp 5 and its jim doing voice over, thikn its because of stuart hall's legal problems

So they have redone all the old episodes? And they still haven't shown any new episodes, right?
I think "legal problems" is putting it lightly.

Showing ANW in the UK is kind of a d*** move.
That being said, can someone fill me in on the Stuart Hall legal troubles?

we have had sasuke 1 to 27 broadcast here in the uk, originally it was stuart hall (sasuke 2-20) then jim north took over (sasuke 1 then from 21-27) but now we have been shown anw 1 and in the middle of anw 2 on thursday nights from 10pm and regular sasuke but now with jim north as voice over, this must have only been done recently, i guess with what hapened to stuart hall, they can not broadcast him on tv. and i would rather not mention stuart halls legal issues as they are of a very sensitive nature

Interesting. I had no idea they redid the old episodes. That's a shame but it was necessary for them I guess. Personally I hate revisionist history but it also gives Jim a chance to see the full history of the show and continuity for everyone else.

its more of a legal issue that it was all redid, but your right it did give jim a chance to watch all the old episodes to learn the history of sasuke and the all stars and where they all started from, it was funny watching sasuke 5 when it was 3 all stars that cleared stage 1 and jim never mentioned them as all stars, tbh it was a lot better than what he did for sasuke 21 - 27, i think he may have redid the whole lot

I've been quite enjoying watching these old runs, seeing how the course changes over the years, and the 'regular' faces appearing before they were regulars etc. Maybe it's just more exposure to him, but I'm starting to get used to Jim's voice & style a bit now (really couldn't stand it at first!), he seems less irritating on this new commentary for the old runs than he did/does on the most recent ones. I didn't know they were showing ANW tho, but not particularly bothered either, I just prefer to watch the original

he does his best, think Craig Charles would have been ideal

Craig Charles would be a good choice I would think, especially as he's already doing/done similar for Takeshi's castle.

well stuart hall's legal issues seems to be resolved, 15 months in jail for what happened, but jim kinda got a bit carried away with nagano's run the day lol

It seems to have vanished from the Challenge schedule for the next few weeks at least (Virgin Media TIVO only seems to have a few weeks advance program info). Last week they were showing Kunoichi but nothing listed in "scheduled recordings" for the next few weeks.

Looks like it's back on Challenge from tomorrow (Friday 19/7/13), then next week, not sure if it's Kunoichi or NW, doesn't give any ep numbers in Virgin Media's info.

I think he finished all Kunoichi competitions. So it should be 11 to 20 of the men's shown next.

Did they? I thought they were only up to about 4 or 5, sure I saw 2 of Ayako's Kanzenseiha's, but not the 3rd, nor Rie Komiya's.
Either way, at least it's back on, trying to find schedule info on Challenges website is harder than clearing Spin Bridgy !

<sigh> Tonights was , yet again, "25 Reasons To Worship Ninja Warrior"
Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoy it as a tribute/look back etc, but it gets shown WAY too often on Challenge. Maybe they show it before the start of each 'block' of shows so anyone who doesn't know what it is can have their interest peaked.
