Yep.. they are rewriting history.. /facepalm I'm sorry Geoffnotjeff .. you deserve so much better. Would it be appropriate to call NBC a bunch of F****** Asshats? It isn't technically rewriting history, but it is a lie of omission, and a particularly brutal, unnecessary and messed up one at that. This is honestly the last straw on this whole debacle for me. Going forward, I had hope they would at least acknowledge Geoff, but nooooooooo, the man that will not be named and who isn't even making an appearance in season 8 gets all the limelight!
Even worse, THE FIRST CHAMPION is being thrown under the bus in this trainer, and for who? Kacy Catanzaro for the millionth time? Isaac? People who have achieved less get so much more attention than him, and the way they are acting, it's like NBC are allergic to Geoff for some reason. Honestly, I don't even know what could be next... getting fast forwarded? Potentially missing out on a wildcard in favour of ten women again? Not showing a Vegas stage 1 or 2 run? It scares me, but at the same time it doesn't surprise me. NBC have reached a new low here.

I just there throught the whole minute and 45 waiting for a snippet of Geoff. I am dazzled at what they did here because GEOF HIT THE BUZZER FIRST. I know Isaac did it faster, but Geoff hit it First. Shall we also consider that he got no breaks between stage 3 and 4, as he barley finished stage three? At least one second of recognition would have done it. btw, is that a kanzenseiha conformation we have here at the end?

Only 1/2 regionals have taped yet, and Vegas finals are still a long way away.

Seriously, f*** NBC. They show no respect to Geoff Britten and just about everybody is angry...it's like he's been erased out of history just like Chris Benoit.

I definitely see your point and I agree ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. In fact, if Chris got the attention he deserved, id probably know who that is (looking him up right now).

Yep.. they are rewriting history.. /facepalm I'm sorry Geoffnotjeff .. you deserve so much better. What's worse about it is that they superimposed Akbar's "Geoff Britten is the first American Ninja Warrior!" onto Issac's run and made it "Issac Caldiero is the first American Ninja Warrior!"

You know, I really want to support the contestants by watching the show, but stuff like this makes it very hard for me to justify doing so. Apparently, making it to stage 4 and finishing runner-up isn't nearly as important as being a woman.
I don't mean to disrespect Kacy or Meagan, but the fact that they were shown with a fair bit of focus, and Geoff wasn't even mentioned, is bull. Not of the Kevin kind, but of the farm kind.

Well, he was a very notable wrestler, but Logan was referencing how NBC is acting like Geoff's final stage completion never happened like WWE doesn't acknowledge Chris Benoit ever existed because of the double murder/suicide he did brought on by years of concussions, he's not a ANW contestant

Must adhere to the SMF laws of posting.. granted.. I even got that reference and I don't even watch current wrestling.

The Benoit situation was harsh (very harsh) but I understood the concept of erasing someone from history. So while the circumstances are vastly different, the rewriting of history and the systematic elimination of the existence of someone is still happening. So only on THAT front are they similar and worth using his last name as a verb to "Benoit" someone. Those who understand the meaning behind it (the rewriting, not the crime) get the initial intention. I was just laughing simply because of the "Wrestling" term but the concept still applies. I guess it's an American thing. We never thought of the negative (the nature of the crime) when referring that word since we were seeing it from the entertainment television treatment.

In NBC's defense, we don't know what they have planned for Geoff. I assure you, it wont be " and up next is Geoff Brittan.."
They cant fix whats happened, but they can try to make it right.
Geoff is my fav no doubt. Im hoping they pay respect. The only American in history to have completed all courses... etc etc

Its nice to see people standing up for me, and i love you all for that, but at the end of the day its just obstacles. To quote BernardoSan "We aren't out here saving lives or curing cancer.." That rings so true to me. Personally I dont care anymore. I had a personal challenge for myself and i accomplished it. Something i told Jess before we left for Vegas was that i hoped i could beat stage 4 and another person would also beat it faster, getting all the media attention so that I could slip back into just being a dad. Really. Pretty cool how that worked out! That being said Matt Iseman started off the Atlanta Qualifiers by Calling out to the entire crowd that Geoff Britten the 1st American ninja warrior was in the crowd. Its pretty obvious how Matt feels about it and to me he IS ninja warrior. Pretty cool =) PS - i AM in the video but no one has noticed yet, even my wife missed me! Doing a stage 2 obstacle.
