There's only 10 minutes left in the episode but ESPN2 is airing some sort of college OCR competition. The episode re-airs at 11 PM EST on ESPN2. Evan Dollard is a co-host. This could be interesting.
For what it's worth, this is exactly how I found SASUKE/Ninja Warrior (from Viking airing on ESPN2), so who knows what this could bring?...

There were three episodes. I only DVRed the first because nothing in the guide indicated more, and I thought something like this would only be done in one, but I was able to catch a marathon later that Saturday. It got a bit boring but overall not bad. I like the camaraderie and how the other teams would run along the sides cheering on competitors. Each episode begins with a recap, then Evan demonstrates a few obstacles, and finally an inspirational speech from Coach Pain. Evan's a good co-host/commentator. I hope ESPN shows more obstacle course racing in the future. I wish it didn't air in 24p, though.

Cheers for the recommendation, they replayed season 1 today. A fun diversion.

Just a reminder - The College Championship will air over the next three nights on ESPN, with a rerun on the same night on ESPNU. There will be a marathon on Wednesday on ESPN2.

Season 2 of the College Championship aired a while back. New this year was the League Championship which includes 11 cities from the US, 2 from Canada, and 3 countries - Sweden, Norway, Bahamas.
20 obstacles like last year, but they changed a bunch. They're doing the course from right to left now; probably to differentiate from NW. Great view having the lake in the background. The course had a long curve, which was handled by coin toss, and winner chooses. Interestingly, a few teams chose the longer lane, and it worked out.
The commentary is what you'd expect from a sports broadcast. Amelia Boone (one of the best obstacle racers in the world) was co-host.
My biggest complaint is the camera work. Very nauseating. Difficult to keep up with the action. It was a combination of being very floaty/shaky, constantly zooming in and out, changing angles almost every second, and having weird angles. Also didn't help that the footage was recorded/broadcast at 24fps instead of 60 like sports should be.
I wish they introduced the competitors better. Going into it, from League, I recognize/remember David Magida (Spartan Pro and host/course reporter this year), Lindsay Webster (Spartan golden couple with Ryan Atkins, 2016 Spartan US Champion Women's, Mikaela Kellner (NW Sweden, and viral story).
Something I found funny was the product placement during the post-run interviews. They would have every member of the team stand there holding a large cup or can. Some would have one in each hand. They toned it down during the League Championship.

A bunch of stuff I was going to post about a while back as a follow-up to my previous post... 1a - This was the silliest the product placement got, where each member held drinks from two different sponsors. Attachment Deleted1b - Mikaela Kellner from Team Sweden went viral in a story last year about how she took down a thief while she was off-duty and sunbathing in a bikini. She competed on Ninja Warrior Sweden. 2a - I was going to post the championship runs for College and League because they were very fast... and obviously... championship runs. 2b - This would also show what I was describing about the nauseating camera work. 2c - However, not entirely, because all the runs they uploaded were from a single camera that only followed the leader, which makes watching slightly more tolerable... but still frustrating. 3a - They uploaded a lot of runs, but not all, and not in any particular order. 3b - The last run uploaded was one of TCU's runs. I don't remember if it was their Opening Round against Illinois where they were slightly behind for much of the race but took the lead through the last leg and finished an obstacle ahead, or their Quarterfinal against Ole Miss where they lost by roughly 3 feet when their last runner tripped coming out of the water slide at the end. 3c - The timing of this was very convenient because it was around or close to TNW College Madness, which also had TCU - Emma Bessera was on both shows airing roughly 5 months apart. 4a - This year, the YouTube channel deleted all their videos shortly before the channel itself was deleted. 4b - In late August last year, BattleFrog cancelled all their races to restructure focusing on their media properties, basically TV stuff. Weird because why delete the YouTube channel? Also weird because they wouldn't have these shows in the first place if not for the regular season races. Anyway, a lot of people lost their jobs, and a lot of people who put in a lot of time and training had their plans ruined. BattleFrog had low registration numbers while trying to compete with the likes of Tough Mudder and Spartan. I always had a little chuckle whenever I saw people on Spartan (not Ultimate Team Challenge) decked out in BattleFrog gear, especially power couple and champions Ryan Atkins and Lindsay Webster. The general consensus is there was terrible management at the top. [ 1] [ 2] 4c - Maybe they'll return with a better format and better camera work... or not. Who knows. No one has heard anything since last year.
