As much as I hate to say it, ANW is a different show than Sasuke now. Meagan never was f***ing on Sasuke, so why group her with Komiya, Shimada, Kadoi, Arimatsu, and Luci?

You did good Meagan! Also ugh James Mcgrath... oi... But yay mentioning Team Japan in Travis's promo! I miss seeing Shingo on the TV screen! Oh and so much bloodshed on the silk slider and jumping spider

We were discussing this in chat, but the Silk Slider would work as the Stage 2 starter, but as "We need a sliding obstacle in Stage 1 just because" it's too awkward. Should have just used the Rolling Escargot, at least there's actual skill involved.
EDIT: Or the Circle Slider. We can dump the Giant Ring (don't hate it, just never excited me, it's just the nerfed Giant Swing) as well and put in the Rolling Log and Circle Slider.

In fairness to Kacy the mere fact that she a woman and doing things that no women has done on the show is going highlighted a lot especially when males have to are doing the same obstacles.
So like in any sport were a girl competes with males like the girl in the little league world championship your going to get coverage.
But that's enough about Kacy her run is next episode so let's stick the episode at hand and save her for next. Besides a lot of interesting happened in this episode like James going out early in the first stage.

I was wondering why it was getting bumped next week. I herd the emmy commercials in the background (i was on my phone, ignore commercials), but didn't realize. *shrug*

So what were your favorite moments thus far in the finals? Meagan Martin stole the show in my opinion.

The only reason I brought this up in the first place is, A) ANW has grouped their history with Sasuke when convenient in the past and B) The first three ANW finals events were held on Japanese soil, the first of which was during the tournament where two? of these women cleared, making it even more relevant to the situation. How can they say no woman has cleared the Jumping Spider when multiple women did it on ANW1's finals course? Just because NBC didn't show it? Lawl.

They seriously need to get rid of the Spin Bridge in favor of something more time-consuming. Nobody who finished tonight was in serious time trouble; even Stratis finished with nearly 10 seconds left, despite several very close calls. As a matter of fact, IMO most of Vegas's Stage 1 is an awkward/slapdash combination of obstacles (primarily the first half) or has become stale after three seasons (primarily the second half). Hopefully these issues are better addressed next year, even though I highly doubt they'll actually happen. On a positive note, I loved how intense Akbar was during Meagan Martin's run. I'm pretty sure he even commented on her having "swag" after clearing the Jumping Spider!

Yes Megan's run was impressive her performance on the HPA makes me question why the other females who beat the JP were defeated so easily by and only one person was defeated by it so far when it was deadlier last year.

I don't know why but to me for some reason, this HPA looked easier than usual. Didn't seem like you had to run very far across the ramp to get the rope.

There shouldn't be drastic changes until someone wins, or at the very least until someone gets to Stage 4. That's ANW's flaw. Sasuke has the opposite problem, sometimes they stay too complacent, ANW tries to switch it up too often. The point of the show is for all six stages to be seen (or as many as possible). Since you have to rotate competitors out (which means the competitor pool is untrustworthy at times) the next best thing is to get people comfortable, have significant measures of success, THEN pull the rugs out. Especially since most debuting obstacles have a flaw which cause failures, not because it's actually difficult.

Although I feel ANW should just leave their later stages alone and toy around more with stage 1. The major issue with stage 1 isn't even the obstacles so much as the fact two obstacles alone shouldn't be doing 90% of the damage. Their needs to be a better balance in difficulty there.

It's a shame two of our forum members were defeated in stage 1 and loved Michael Breanado 's back slap of Ryan Stratis and his problem at the half- pike attack was comical still glad he cleared though!

Yeah I mean don't they tend to spruce up stage 1 at least a little bit in most SASUKE tournaments too regardless of success?

I was glad to see Isaac make it through, he might be cocky but he sure is talented. I really want to see him and Ian take on stage 3, so hopefully the wolf pack can keep up the good work. I was also sorry to see James go down. As for the Kacy coverage, it should really come as no surprise, that's what most people want to see. Just look at the view count of the most popular videos on ANW's youtube page.

I did some math 1 or 2 weeks ago; Kacy's finals video has more views than ALL the others combined (include her qualifiers, and it's like double). Meagan making history; Akbar's reaction was priceless.
EDIT: So, um, the preview for last night's ep; looks like it wasn't accurate?

/insertepicfacepalm Seriously.. they seriously went there? Before the only thing they said was "they are Japanese and we only are chronicling the AMERICANS on this show". Right.. now they retcon an AMERICAN to trump up this year above all others. They need to stop letting interns do their research because seriously.. this is not only infuriating.. it's now a meme. I can't wait until September when they combine the Sasuke/ANW results again during the USA vs. World: Carpetbagger's Special.
