Please keep ALL discussion for these episodes in their respective threads. Sunday, August 11, 2013 - G4 Network9:00 PM - S05, E13 - Miami Finals Part 1Description: Part 1 of 2. Thirty competitors attempt the Miami Finals course, which includes two new obstacles: the Ledge Jump and the Rolling Steel. Continuing to use TV Guide listings and winging it. If anyone sees discrepancies please bring it to my attention and I'll edit it. The whole point is to make sure that we get proper discussion threads for each of the televised shows to help those who didn't want to get spoiled avoid an incident.  This is "Semi's" from the city of Miami, Florida on G4. Please keep this specific episode on this thread only. Don't bring up other regionals into discussion here. Keep that on those threads. REMINDER: There are people who did not read the respective spoiler threads from when the competition was taped.. please do not include information from that thread here. Stick to the episode shown. Last reminders of course that all of this thread is a spoiler thread for what is shown on G4's broadcast. |

Ledge Jump = some form of double Spider Flip thing
Rolling Steel = Arm Bike shaped like the Iron Paddler

WTF! Firefighter guy pulls the bar off the slider jump, and isn't DQed!!!!
What is with them? Get the rules right!

I thought this was pretty unfair but considering how lethal the Slider Jump was in the qualifiers I can understand not having the "luck factor" involved this time around. |

Really, ANW when the bar falls off the tracks in Slider Jump you don't disqualify them? When my friend skipped some questions in a quiz he had to finish them in a week of detention and was banned from clubs for a F***ing Month, really. And really, you call Ninja Warrior as "Just the Japanese version of the show." If it wasn't for that Japanese show, no one at ANW would have a f***ing show so just get your s***ty facts straight, ANW. REALLY!

I haven't seen the ep but how exactly was the bar off the tracks? did it just completely come off or was it on one side and they still managed to get the net without hitting the water? If it's the latter I'm not sure why all the hate... technically Yuuji was still in his rung when holding onto the DSL bar in 25 when it was hanging by the stopper, he couldn't do anything but that wasn't a DQ, he failed when it dropped a notch and his foot dipped

Someone just cleared on the NBC episode after not being DQ'd from this. /facepalm Tukrong Klengdong

The bar came completely off the rails, hit him in the face as he kept sliding, and then he grabs the net to continue on. This case was different than the other ones in the fact that he caught the net on the way down from falling. The other guys hung from it and then grabbed the net. |

I think it was ok in those two circumstances to let the guys through. They didn't hang on the bar for too long, they grabbed the net immediately after the bar came off. Additionally, if there is any grey area (which this most certainly was), the benefit of the doubt should go to the competitor.
Just seems like the producers were trying to decrease the semifinal failures due to luck is all. I don't blame them.
