That was kinda vague on wording of one part, the "average joes" don't help build the course, the pro guys too. But very glad to see the testers getting a bit of spotlight in the article, but clearly Baltimore had the best testers

clearly Baltimore had the best testers I'm very partial to the Denver testers, since I was in line with a few of those guys, and they're cool peopleses.

www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2013/06/30/american-ninja-warrior-nbc-g4-premiere/2472753/If I read this article correctly, I'm now sick to my stomach. It looks like they're going to go with 8 weeks of qualifying/preliminary episodes this year, and only 2 weeks of Vegas. I'm already expecting lower ratings for ANW5, compared to ANW4, for multiple reasons, but potentially spending 2 months on trials sounds excruciatingly terrible. Just when I think that A. Smith & Co. are done coming up with terrible ideas, they decide on this garbage.

I don't mind the idea of qualifying and regional finals being on NBC, I hate how they're splitting it up though... I'd rather have two consecutive weeks in one city than splitting it up by round...

LOL d5j49kg that's not how it works in television. Those schedule are decided months in advance. ANW got what.. 2-3 extra weeks this time around? And besides.. the finals was the lowest ranked of all the series ratingswise so that's probably why they got 1 hour at a time spread along with spreading it out over a couple of weeks.

TV schedules change all the time. It's not like "Siberia" is "The Voice". If "Siberia" keeps dropping in the ratings, even NBC will either pull it or put it in the Saturday night death slot.

Even if Siberia bombs, that doesn't mean ANW is automatically going to get more time... likely thing is even if siberia gets moved/canned, it'd be filled by a rerun of something else or they'd push one of those talent/singing/whatevers that NBC feels are more popular than a niche obstacle course

Yeah we were having fun with that in the Vegas/Japan thread. Seems they don't know how to differentiate between people (or obstacles for that matter LOL)

The Warped Wall is most notable, 14 feet as opposed to a usable 13 feet in Japan, the Rolling Log in vegas had one handle, the DSL in Vegas last year had larger notches if that counts, plus the bigger jump from the Unstable Bridge. the ANW4 Log Grip was thicker than in japan too but had even grip placement. And I'm probably a month too early to say this but... Baltimore's Rumbling Dice was sofa king heavy making it difficult to roll... Just to name a few examples
(I'm not counting regional steps... I dunno WTF the point of those being huge is...)
