First stage had a hell of alot of clears gutted Nagano got injured. The 2nd stage I loved the improvement to the back stream but felt the time limit was too strict now. Stage 3 Morimoto impressed me so much but just had a feeling he was going to fail the final jump and to me that felt like the end right there as I expected the other 3 to fail the cliffhanger. Hope Morimoto gets a chance to avenge that.
Great tourny in all was fun! I may post more thoughts as the day goes on.

Yeah, I didn't like that they digested a lot of great runs in the 1st stage. It's also good that they tried to make a time limit for stage 2 less lenient, but it was WAY too hard. Stage 3, wasn't that bad though, it was mainly that people were resting too much. But Kongu on the 2nd obstacle. Wow.

I was thoroughly disappointed, to be honest. Stage 2 was total crap.

I am surprised Hitoshi Kanno failed the crazy cliffhanger and Kongu he surprised me when he failed to complete the crazy cliffhanger I really thought he could do it.

To take it all in with what happened in the tournament, it felt just about right in a way, but I wouldn't say it was "great". It was definitely good with the fact that overall, we had a good amount of clears for the 1st stage, a new challenging 2nd stage with the new equalizer the Backstream and a very interesting 3rd stage.
At the rate they're going, this is going to be very interesting on how they can continue and how much more the participants are going to prepare for it all.

Man...that stage 2...although I wonder if they put another 10-20 seconds on stage 2 how many more would've actually cleared...

That's the old stage 2 we love....Inui took new obstacles and gave it a SASUKE 1-6 feel.

Man...that stage 2...although I wonder if they put another 10-20 seconds on stage 2 how many more would've actually cleared... That's what I was thinking. Hopefully for the next one, they'll add at the very least 10 seconds, because as I mentioned in the Backstream thread, almost everyone who made it to that point were just decimated, with the way it seems now that whether you stay under or stay up top, you're going to run into a lot of resistance either way.

Morimoto was a pleasant surprise, look forward to seeing him in the ASEAN cup.
Kong Express over the Iron Paddler was simply a beautiful reaction moment in Sasuke history. Few fearsome obstacles have had their reputation so thoroughly torn down in such a short timeframe.

Overall, it was a pretty good tournament. Definitely not one of my favorites, but it was good. I do wish they showed a few more runs of the first stage. But the double warped wall is already getting a little stale. Takeda.. I just had a feeling he was going to fall where he did, but man did I flip out when it happened. Second stage was a beast. In a good way. I hope they don't change a thing in the second stage. Third stage was great. It was interesting to see the timer just to see how long people actually rest between obstacles. And the surprising new star that came out of nowhere. Congrats on him getting so far, and so close.

I just felt honestly Morimoto was the best hope of a clear he had no fear and just went for it.
