Please keep ALL discussion for these episodes in their respective threads. Sunday, June 30, 2013 - G4 Network9:00 PM - S05, E01 - Venice Qualifying Part 1Description: Sixty competitors from the West Coast vie for a chance to take on the world's most-difficult obstacle course. tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/american-ninja-warrior-venice-qualifying-part-1/EP012100200076?aid=zap2itThis seems to be a 1 hour show. (Seems to be repeating at 10 PM) This is Venice Beach, California Prelims on G4. I'll create a thread for the Monday, NBC Semi's. Please keep this specific prelims on this thread only. Don't bring up other regionals into discussion here. Keep that on those threads. REMINDER: There are people who did not read the respective spoiler threads from when the competition was taped.. please do not include information from that thread here. Stick to the episode shown. Last reminders of course that all of this thread is a spoiler thread for what is shown on G4's broadcast.

So do we have to wait until next week for the semi-finals for Venice?

Tomorrow they finish the preliminaries so, yeah. We will have to wait until next week for the semi-finals. Thats what I assumed.

I think because tomorrow is 2 hours on NBC they will show the qualifier rounds the 1st hour then the regional final the 2nd hour.

That is a stupid idea broadcast wise but I hope the G4 and NBC eps are the same, I mean if qualifying is on NBC too it better be the same so those without g4 see everything

Let me get some things straight, cause I think I'm lost. Qualifying round is just what we watched. Then when they add the next 2 or 3 obstacles to te same stage, that is called the semi-finals, correct?

I no longer have G4 after switching providers so if tomorrow's broadcast doesn't show everything I will be very upset.

Just looked at a schedule, it said "venice qualifying part 1", "venice qualifying part 2" then it showed "venice qualifying part 1" again and at midnight part 2 again (so not wrong since that's wednesday technically... lol )

Guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow night, but these are the descriptions from TV Guide for the Tuesday 3 hour rerun.
07/02 Tuesday 8-9 EST, G4: Venice Beach Qualifying. The fifth season opens with a qualifying round in Venice Beach, Cal., and features obstacles such as the Frame Slider, Domino Hill, Chain Swing and Flying Nun Chucks.
07/02 Tuesday 9-11 EST, G4: Venice Qualifying Part 2. The conclusion of the two-part Season 5 opener features a qualifying round in Venice Beach, Cal., with obstacles such as the Frame Slider, Domino Hill, Chain Swing and Flying Nun Chucks.

For those who watched last year's.. didn't G4 always rerun everything from NBC the night before? So all they are doing is adding the Sunday rerun on top of the existing NBC rerun they were supposed to do?

For tomorrow, Monday episode premieres. G4 will then show its episode as an additional encore, NBC's episode as an encore, followed by showing both episodes again right after the initial NBC encore because they have nothing else to air on Tuesday. In addition to G4 likely showing random encores during the week, NBC will re-air its episode on Saturday night.
For the Sunday of the new cycle of episodes, usually G4 will air either its particular episodes, or as many as they have, regardless of network until the new G4 episode, then the overall cycle repeats I assume.
To sum up:
For Monday (7/1/13) NBC: ANW 8/7 CST (NBC's new episode)
Tuesday (7/2/13) G4: ANW 8/7 CST (G4's encore) ANW 9/8 CST (NBC's encore) ANW 11/10 CST (G4 and NBC's encores)
*Potential re-runs airing on G4 during the week*
Saturday (7/6/13) NBC: 'Primetime' encore of its ANW episode
Sunday (7/7/13) G4: Re-airs whatever episodes necessary to get slackers up to speed until the new episode airs, then repeat the entire cycle over.
EDIT: My cable box was showing Tuesday for all the encores.

Thanks TCM! For the record though.. they got nothing else to show on G4 so why not just run a marathon of the same episode? LOL Yes yes I'm digressing
