Damn it, they're on to us! We're too good at finding their used themes Can't help but feel they should have hired Takanashi Yasuharu, although granted after all the borrowed songs of his they've used over the years maybe he wouldn't want to help lol

Also pretty much verifies we will never see 1-28 on DVD or Bluray as they mention music copyright issues.... However, if they are doing this then it might signal they plan on using the TBS release as the new Sasuke overseas edition without "ninja warrior" editing that G4 used to do?

I wish they knew a way to remove all the music entirely so they could release the show on dvd and make some dough, but nooo.

They had the music already stripped.

Hopefully they'll use the new music for previews only, and create MORE suspense!

I am curious to see how they incorporate these songs into the broadcast efficiently. 12 songs seems pretty limited for a whole tournament. Perhaps they'll create more songs with subsequent tournaments. In either case, this is also disappointing to me in the sense that finding music for future competitions may not be very exciting. One of the primary reasons I enjoy finding songs used on SASUKE is the thrill of figuring out where these interesting songs are from. With the incorporation of Hollywood music starting in 29, it will be much less interesting IMO. Also, as arsenette mentioned, it's sad that these copyright issues are likely to prevent the original TBS broadcasts from ever being officially released on DVD or Blu-ray. This is especially bothersome in regards to many of the older tournaments which we either possess low-quality JET recordings of or don't have recordings of at all. At this point, our best bet is for someone with personal recordings of the TBS and/or JET broadcasts to upload them online, but even that is far from certain. I also wonder if there is any chance of Inui ever making them downloadable through an online service such as iTunes, though the chances of that also appear slim. On a lighter/off-topic note, this is my 2000th post!

They had the music already stripped. Perhaps. I think they just sent G4 the original unaltered footage before it had all the music and superimposed graphics, but nevermind. Bottom line is: They have an easy way of avoiding music copyrights for the dvd release, and they won't take it.

Hell if they wanted they can reedit the show with new music just for the release like some American shows have done.

On a lighter/off-topic note, this is my 2000th post! About time lol On a serious note, I'm almost confident that with 12 songs (I was confident before) that we won't see new competitor themes. I would think they wrote a kanzenseiha song as well as something along the lines of the All Star theme (from 23 and beyond). And yes, sadly, we'll probably be saying goodbye to Yagyu Gaiden.

Unless you consider songs used on SASUKE/SASUKE Navi as spoilers, I am pleased to mention that the Navi did use past songs. I'm hoping the broadcast of 29 and future competitions continue the trend of using them as well, in conjunction with the 12 original compositions.

Very much agreed. Though Navi usually isn't something that would be potentially released in Bluray/DVD format? Personally I'm hoping it's a mix like you mentioned. I am partial to the competitor theme songs in particular.

I agree. It would seem pretty weird without any of the common themes (even 28 seemed a bit odd with a lack of recurring songs for everything except the All-Stars' themes, Yagyu-Gaiden, and Kuramochi's newer theme), but it should still be pretty neat to see how well the original compositions play into the broadcast of 29 and beyond.
If anything, my main concern regarding the topic of SASUKE music is if there is any way for TBS to work around the issue of copyrighted music used in previous SASUKE competitions (as well as other former M9 shows) in order to make them available to the public in their entire original formats. Maybe not via DVD or Blu-Ray, but any kind of format (perhaps iTunes).

I apologize if these questions have been answered already, but I was just wondering two things about these original songs. 1.) Are these 12 songs for SASUKE in general, or just for 29? Because in the article, they mention that one of the things which the themes were composed for were for each of the four stages. After seeing 29, we know that nobody reached the Final Stage, which gives me the impression that they only used some of the songs this time around instead of all 12. Nevertheless, it's still a bit ambiguous. 2.) Does anyone know if there are plans to release these original songs anytime in the near future? After all, they are original pieces for SASUKE, so I can't imagine any significant copyright issues in them doing so.

1. That's a good point because I didn't hear 12 (unless they ALL sounded the same LOL) 2. Ask Inui. I don't know any other way to get answers honestly.

1.) I'm guessing they used the majority of the songs, though there are other points in SASUKE broadcasts during which they might include the rest that they didn't have the chance to in 29 (this is elaborated upon more clearly within the spoiler tags of my previous post). A lot of them did sound pretty similar though. 2.) That's true about tweeting to Inui to hopefully see what he has to say. However, I say "hopefully" since he doesn't respond to my questions that often. I'll give it a try nonetheless.
