Keep ALL discussion in each city's thread.
June 21-23, 2013* - Las Vegas, Nevada
Now that at one of the cities is just about complete I decided to put threads for these. For those who remember from last year, these are the threads that include discussion on obstacles, competitors as we find them and any results. Please keep all discussion of each city (INCLUDING RESULTS FROM EACH CITY) in these threads ONLY and not spread out over the ANW5 board. That includes "David Campbell's run", etc. Remember that not everyone likes spoilers so keep that in mind that many will wait until the official NBC/Esquire airings later in the summer.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SPECULATION THREAD FOR WHO WILL BE IN LAS VEGAS. As the case was last year keep this thread ONLY for information on Vegas. At MOST.. write a list of who qualified and that's it. Any discussion of the events of previous cities remains in that city's thread. Otherwise this thread will be 40 pages long well before Vegas takes place which is still TWO MONTHS AWAY.. Keep that in mind.
[ Note from the Admins ]
The above rules will be strictly enforced. We have 2 and a half months till Vegas, we don't need spam.
Your posts will be deleted if they are not on-topic (according to the "note" above) and you will be warned 2% per violation.

Ummmmm.... for some reason they changed the taping to be over 3 days, so maybe 1st Stage on Friday, 2nd Saturday, and the 3rd and Final stages Sunday??? EDIT: Maybe the 1st day is to watch testers or something? I dunno lol.

Maybe 50 people will face stage 1 on the Friday and then the other half on the Saturday with Stages 2-4 on the Sunday. Do they usually split the stages up in japan? I always thought it was in one day and that's why it was so challenging.

I think I would like to go see ANW in Vegas this year. Does anybody know the address of the course or can anybody find it on Google Maps?

I think I would like to go see ANW in Vegas this year. Does anybody know the address of the course or can anybody find it on Google Maps? last year it was set up in an empty lot across from Mandaly Bay but not sure if they will put it in the same spot or not this year. I am pretty sure it will be in the same spot just like they use the same area in Venice each year.

Can't rely on history for that, miami changed locations, but Midoriyama probably will stay in that spot for the sake of consistency, you can't have "the legendary course" moving around all willy-nilly like the regionals.
Also if any sideline footage shows up like the clips from last year, someone keepvid (or some other youtube download method) all that stuff lol

Do you guys prefer the 3 day taping versus the Japan 1 day taping?

I'm all about that one day taping. It just feels "wrong" (for lack of a better word) to have to wait THAT long during stages. At least for Sasuke, you're on the lot all day.

Heh that's another thread entirely. So far nothing is going on in Vegas so until we get more solid information we shouldn't really speculate. Thanks Philip for posting the addition of the other day on that one website. If later it's confirmed that it's 3 days I'll change the title to reflect that official change.

The one day definitely, besides the fact that's how it always was in japan (all 28 Sasuke, all 7+1 (ok fine.. I'll say 8) Kunoichi, even all the Viking too), it's better for everyone overall, I mean there's the obvious of not having to pay for 2 more hotel days and take off 2 more days, but it's sort of better physically to have all the runs in one day as opposed to 1 a day on multiple days, yes there's drain from the multiple runs but all the starting and stopping is overall not as pleasant (since besides the one run you also have everyone using the warm-up area and standing around...) Also from what I heard in Baltimore (my seat was right next to the top competitor roundup), seems like some competitors appreciated how the double run was more like Sasuke I can only find one advantage to the multi-day thing, the night runs look better but that's just an opinion about appearance and not as much an actual advantage

Me and my dad want to fly over and see the finals. I was wondering how the spectating went, in terms of "first come first serve" or you have to be on a waiting list. I have never been to a regional or final so I'm a little new to this. Thanks for the help.

I have no idea how but tonight, I came up with an extremely strange plan to see the ANW5 Finals as a group of SMF users. I think we should be "special" VIP guests(NOT IN BLEACHERS)wearing a shirt that says "Sasuke Maniacs in Vegas", sitting on our own chairs and meeting some ninjas! The main reason I probably came up with this plan is that I originally wanted to get a ticket to see the finals, but I had to join the waiting list. Unfortunately, some guys told us there's like 400 people on the waiting list(Most of them probably don't know anything about SASUKE LOL:P). If you like this plan(I have absolutely no idea what to expect!), please respond and tell me if you have any time or other plans. We wanna be a team on this forum!

I'm not sure if NBC would allow that. To them (NBC) we are just spectators, not special VIP guests. Also I have no money.

It's extremely strange because it's illogical and frankly stupid. There's no way NBC would let us be VIP representatives, and none (well, very few) of us have the financial resources to go to Vegas to watch ANW.
Just as a rule of thumb, can you take some time to think about these grandiose plans before you post them on SMF from now on? Nothing against you personally, it just keeps the forums from cluttering up.

For vegas Midoriyama you still probably have a chance, there have to have been over 400 people in ANW4's crowd, hell brent's group was 70 and they were a fraction of the crowd lol
then again spectators are divided by ticket crowd and competitor friends and family
