Apparently only 400 people out of 10,000 applicants got call backs (this is the total for all regions combined). ThAt may be true, but walking around Miami right now there are definitely a lot of the same ppl as last year.

Alright guys we're up next! Last minute ninja has commenced. Don't over do it and injure yourself (I slept wrong and my neck has been killing me for 3 days now). Good luck everyone and lets show them why the last region is the best region!

Does anyone have an idea of how early the walk-on line might start? (or fill up)

If the cops don't get involved i'd say as early as 5 days in advance looking at Miami. If they do, however, start kicking people out be there on the day it starts at sunrise. Many people want a shot so the line may fill quickly.

Denver should be the nuttiest walkon situation yet I bet. Since it is the "last stop" all those who didn't get to compete in the earlier regions and are seriously determined to get a shot will be making one last ditch effort to get on in Denver.

For all you walk-ons, are you as prepared as Jason Huewe? With the bag, foam/rumble roller, yoga block, lacrosse ball and first aid supplies??
What do you or (or more specific to the thread) What are you going to have with you when you try and walk on in Denver?

Two questions: 1) does anyone know it there's an interactive webcam like Venice in Denver? 2) Does the anw crew go over the rules, q&a of the course with testers going through it with the whole group of competitors or in sections? Thanks.

From what I saw in Baltimore as a spectator it looks like everyone goes through the rules at once, I only saw the tester going through everything once on saturday (and I know they go through ALL the rules at once, although that might just be my perspective due to circumstances in Baltimore (I.E. the double run due to rain delay))

They'll go through the rules in two large groups. Baltimore was an exception because of the rain delay.

Thanks for clearing that up, my only first hand experience at ANW was Baltimore, and both times I saw anything regarding rules, both were under special circumstances (Both testing and as a spectator after the rain delay (I didn't see anyone groups for rules on friday, they were still kinda waiting because the rain hit right after competitors were getting checked in))

Have we ruled out that they're getting invites to Vegas? Perhaps that's why only 60 guaranteed spots this year, since they need room for famous people to compete alongside the qualifiers like in SASUKE (remember, this is a completely separate event now) Isn't it supposed to be Win and Get In this time around though?

It's more like there was a set number of peopel who go, but if more people than that clear the regional finals they go to vegas. Think of how last year there were over 15 clears in the Southeast regional finals and time eliminations had to be made? The rule they added pretty much mean everyone who completely cleared is in, they still have the top x and people who didn't complete get vegas spots. That's my understanding of it

I didn't get a call back and at this point I'm still debating whether or not I should try to walk on. I initially told myself that if I didn't get a callback then I wouldn't try to walk on but now that the worst case scenario has happened, it's a lot tougher to walk away than I thought it would be. But the whole walk-on experience seems like a whole different ballgame and I'm not sure if I have the dedication and mental fortitude to wait in line for hours and hours, staring at the course, knowing that even then I may not get to run. I have massive amounts of respect for those that do.
Currently plane ticket prices too expensive for an unsure thing although they did drop some compared to 2 days ago. Maybe a last minute deal will pop up but I'm starting to accept the fact that I won't be participating this year.
No matter what happens, I wish all the ninjas that are trying out or walking on all the best and I hope y'all have fun out there. I've had the opportunity to try out 3 times before which is awesome considering I never even thought I would get a single chance to begin with.
I'm certainly not ready to give up on ANW entirely and I plan on using this experience to help fuel me for next year.
Good luck everybody!
