Speaking of Inui, did he mention why Kouji isn't a New-Star? I didn't ask. Lord knows I've pestered the living hell out of him. Feel free to ask I'd love to hear the answer.

With all the ideas Inui is hoping to implement, he'll probably be looking to make 29 the best tournament ever lol.

All-Stars. More specifically, Shingo.
That is all.

^ Agreed, 100%. Shingo, Nagano and Takeda have all said on Facebook that they want to return, and Takeda said ON CAMERA that he wants to return. The fans want them to return. Right now, we just have to hope that TBS can take the not-so-subtle hint that no one likes their idea of retiring the All-Stars.

Now that he knows he's been rehired to do 29 he's already putting some thought into it Oh and make Yuuji #100 and Kanno #99. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if that happened. Oh and yes I want all the All-stars back.. (yes.. even Yamada if he wants to come back).

I personally would do this as the competitor lineup:
100. Yuuji (as much as he probably hates being here -- tradition dictates the defending champion is the last to run) 99. Kanno 98. Asa 97. Ryo
Or maybe put Ryo and Asa in low, maybe mid 90s. I don't know if I would bump Someya (the only "newer" competitor to clear) that high, but probably put him no lower than 70s.
Even if the All-Stars return, push the fact that the New Generation are the ones who carry the show now, treat the All-Stars not as the saviors, but more of a special attraction for as long as they choose. Spread them out more, too. Nagano and maybe Takeda would stay in the 90s, Yamada and Shingo can take literally anything from the 60s to the 80s. Akiyama I would stress should go early, although it seemed like Stage 1 was lit pretty well at night.
Not to mention bring back a few more vets, because the audition process did more harm than good. I "understand" the point of it, but this is the era of the STQers. You should be confident enough that they don't beat the course immediately in their debut. I truly think Yuuji was/is more of a special case and even he just broke his 100% clear rate for Stage 3.

If the All-stars are coming back it will pose a problem with the lineup . that said I do support the idea of them going at different numbers spreading them out. Less pressure too on them So long as they are there I honestly don't care WHAT number they are. I'm still adamant that the current and 2-time champion be 100. Everyone else is just gravy.

100 Yuuji 99 Nagano 98 Akiyama 97 Kanno 96 Asa 95 Ryo 94 Koki 93 Yamada 92 Shingo 91 Takeda 90 Wakky

We should keep the thread devoid of that (yes I added to it as well). That is a whole new post honestly. Let's keep all of that clear so we can focus on the Sasuke 29 developments on this thread as we know more.

I have a feeling Yamada won't compete in Sasuke 29.

Maybe they'll give Yuuji a break and make Kanno #100. Yuuji would be #99 and Ryo would be #98 the rest is all up to TBS in my opinion.

Bring back Monkeke, Hasegawa Ken, Miura Eiichi and Jun Sato. Because Sato is techniqually a new star and those three were pretty good in the first few tournaments.

And let's not forget Harashima! Not sure about Aoki though; although he's (somehow) managed to be in most of the tournaments since his appearance in 13, he always fails the first obstacle. At least with Harashima and Kuramochi, they clear the first obstacle sometimes.

Inui has said in several tweets that they are trying to move away from the "bad image" that was created by Monster 9 (and it's bankruptcy).
Moving focus away from the All-Stars would be step one. The next would be to phase out older but still popular SASUKE famous "regulars" like Torisawa and Kuramochi. Bringing back older known competitors like Monkiki would be a step back. If I were Inui, I would use the fact that several old-timers like Naoki Iketani did poorly as a justification for not having them on again. (Kaneko might get a second chance since he is in Cirque du Soleil).

Most people don't care about M9 they care about the people they watch on Sasuke. Their latest project with the phasing out the All-stars failed big time. They might want to reconsider that tactic..

I think that the justification for bringing all the regulars back is that only 1 of the 70+ newcomers cleared the first stage!

Yeah, I agree with Arsenette. Three of the All-Stars have already stated on Facebook that they want to return, and one stated ON CAMERA that he wants to return. What is probably even more significant is the reaction of the fans when commenting on the All-Stars' statuses. I haven't seen any comments to the effect of "TBS is so stupid, I won't watch Sasuke again if the All-Stars retire," but on the other hand, I haven't seen any comments saying "I'm glad you're retired from Sasuke; now you can focus on other things." Most of the comments regarding Sasuke are wishing the All-stars good luck at the next tournament. The fans are encouraging the All-Stars to continue to compete and wishing them good luck for Sasuke 29. I understand that TBS wants to move away from M9, but retiring the All-stars and other favorites will hurt Sasuke, not help it. Sasuke is on thin ice already. If TBS goes through with their plan to retire the All-Stars and other favorites, that will be the final nail in the coffin for Sasuke. I'm hoping that TBS will change their minds about retiring the All-Stars and it won't come to this. But my prediction is that if the All-Stars are not in Sasuke 29, the ratings for that tournament will be abysmal, and that without the All-Stars, the show will not last beyond Sasuke 30 or 31.
