I really hope when G4 and NBC does this again, that TBS and the other companies involved with the building and running of the actual Sasuke course come and help set up. I thought they were supposed to do that from the get go, not send docs on how to set it up, because we now see how that turned out. I loved the look of the course. Just how the obstacles acted were not so good. I didn't get to see the final ep yesterday due to me getting home at 11pm yesterday but from what I'm hearing, it was interesting.. I think next year they will improve like they always do (I mean this years qualifying course was better than past years for sure), and so that means if they have another full course again, it should be built better than this years.. You just improve on your mistakes, which hopefully they will.. I agree. They've fixed their courses over the years. ANW 1 was too easy, ANW 2 was too dangerous, ANW 3 was just flawed, and ANW 4 had only a few things we didn't like about it. It'll piss me off if they go back to boot camp (which they most likely won't).

The whole controversy (true or false) makes me kinda miss boot camp for some reason.

I'm happy Brent did well on the 3rd Stage, what's also awesome is he had a huge following during the competition. But the hang climbing? Are you serious? He's supposed to be a rock climber in his spare time. Granted he's a stunt man first, I really expected him to make it to at least the spider flip. You could tell when he looked at the camera while on the hang climb, he started to give up. He just didn't look very determined to get through the obstacle. That bothers me. Still very happy he beat the UCH, but you have to wonder if that version was easier than the Sasuke version....

The UCH looked identical to the Japanese version. I was just shocked Brent cleared it after dealing with the first three brutal obstacles.
I think he was completely drained during the Hang Climb. Those handholds were insufficient and it seemed just holding on was too difficult. It was certainly not a lack of determination.

Just saw Brent's run on Youtube. He did really well so congrats to him. I'm especially glad to see him pass the UCH.

Were the dimensions different? I couldn't tell a difference.

Just watched the finale. Soooooo upsetting! First off, this rant is as a viewer, things you can see from the broadcast. I'm not going to mention anything I saw as a competitor. This is also the edited version because I want to compete again There is video proof that Brent timed out. The course flashes red during the last 10sec and stays red at failure during every run, so look for that during his and you'll see it. I hate that they play the same competitor profiles 50 times but then skip every single run from competitors who even made it to stage 2, let alone Vegas. Stage 3 was kind of rough, but I hate that they lied. First, you can see that the door knobs aren't turning. Second, the UCH was wayyyyy easier. Look at how thick those rails are during side shots. [Rant edit]

Brian, did it seem like the gaps were smaller? As a viewer it looked like the gaps were significantly smaller.

I always thought Brent was the best American. I'm so happy that he did well.

The two major problems I had with the finale was with the darkness of the course and the camera work.
I thought the Salmon Ladder and Hang Climb looked bad on TV because of the color change to black; everything was too dark.
I thought the camera positioning was also bad. The landing platform for the Unstable Bridge was too dark and the poles obscured the view of it. There were too many obscured views.

Granted this course is still amazing compared to any of the preliminaries, it's just not Sasuke yet.

No, I was suggesting people who were trying to bug people for vids ask him instead of anyone who was there, I don't know where you got that out of my message WELL SUBJECT CHANGE... As for another matter... looks like the UCH ledges were 3cm like they were supposed to be Besides the fact he was only hanging by the finger tips on the UCH in Sasuke, I still say the ledges are thicker at ANW. Just saying.... No. The ledges are the same. It just looks like they aren't because in the SASUKE 26 pic he's further away from the camera. EDIT: And the camera's at a different angle.

The ledges were bigger at ANW (there's a better pic rider), and Brent didn't pass in time. I already said where you can see it on the broadcast.

Well at least the competitors know what to expect next year obstacle wise, I'll say that.

I'm just wondering, if NBC forced Brent through, then maybe he failed the sending climber on purpose?
And am I the only one here sitting with popcorn, reading all this? Everybody's arguing and it's quite hilarious!

The ledges were bigger at ANW (there's a better pic rider), Are we talking this? Because it still looks like the same size as in Japan (Compared with this pic, it's from 26 but spoiler'd for size) Although I would believe that the first two ledges are bigger (although we never got a good look at them) but I think 3 and 4 are 3cm

As you can see the old topic is gone. I moved it, I will bring in on topic posts later.
There is to be no more fighting, arguing, threats, or attacks on members or non members of this board about whether or not Brent cleared.
Any name calling, threatening, or attacking of forum members from this point on is an instant suspension.
