Awesome job for finding that Philip! I didn't know they had so many other tournaments! If I'm seeing it correctly, they have every tournament on DVD from 16 to 27 (except for 23). A few of the tournaments look like they're split up into 2 or 3 DVDs, though that may actually be a good thing since it implies higher quality broadcasts! Maybe they'll have more tournaments added eventually if we're lucky! On a side note, I know what I want this Christmas.
I think I saw Sasuke 23. Wait, nevermind. My birthday is coming up soon, I might be able to buy a couple of them and I'll tell you guys how they are!

More discs doesn't necessarily imply higher quality. The Japanese shows varied in time and length.
Also, the reason everything isn't in one place when you search is because sometimes the title is just SASUKE in regular font and sometimes it's sï½ï½“uke (if that makes sense - it has to do with Japanese keyboards). That's because they copy and pasted the title and synopsis for some shows straight off the web.

Ok everyone, you should now be able to get Sasuke 16 you-know-where. Please let me know if it's working correctly. Other than that, enjoy!

So since we know it's kinda legitish in the fact it has content and sends it, what other tournaments do they have?

Oh, wish they had older ones, we have TBS of all those (well, minus 18 and the start of 19 but we have those in JET), granted I don't know if we have high quality versions, if I remember correctly the quality of the 20 and 21 we have is bad

Just for the record, I'm hoping to buy a few more of the DVDs in the next month or two. If I do, I'll definitely get 20 and 21, probably get 18 and 25, and possibly the rest (though if not now, I'll get those ones later on). For those who've seen my rip of Sasuke 16, it's probably safe to assume that these will all be high-quality recordings (and the later ones might even be in HD), and I'll update this thread when they become available! BTW Rider, I actually e-mailed the website about whether or not they'll eventually have DVDs available of the first 15 tournaments (plus Sasuke 23, which although we do have a nice TBS copy of, is for some reason excluded from the website and might as well be added if possible so the 16-27 DVD set can be completed ). Point blank, I sent the message to them in both English and Japanese a few weeks ago, but I haven't received a reply from them yet. I re-sent it today, so hopefully I at least get a response from them about this soon. There's no guarantee that they'll be able to obtain/sell the earlier tournaments, but there's no harm in asking; after all, most of those broadcasts are currently only available as low-quality JET rips (if they're available at all).

They don't seem to have any (recorded) TV shows earlier than 2005 so the chances of them having anything before 15 are slim. The only pre-2005 stuff they have is limited to Korean dramas and Japanese movies with the occasional DVD release of some TV stuff. Most, if not all, are probably either used or copied from the original DVDs. BTW, does anyone live in New York? This is run by one of the guys listed on who is page: www.midnightusa.com/ <-- pretty much the same thing. www.yellowpages.com/new-york-ny/mip/newtok-video-corp-5660350#But it seems that there is an actual store you can go to. Maybe. Not sure. P.S.: Try putting in Sportsman in katakana in the search box. I'd search more but I'm blocked from both sites (no surprise there) and I'm tired of using a proxy just to do searches.

That store is actually a 10 minute walk from where I live. I'll report back when I've had the chance to visit.

Lots of the Pro Sportsman shows were four hours plus so they've broken the show into two discs. Certain years had two Geinojin Sportsman to one Pro Sportsman, hence the four discs available for 2006.
Also, not days, months. Pro = January, Geinojin = March/April and September/October.

A few updates regarding the DVDs: 1.) It turns out that they do have Sasuke 23 available on their website. It can be found here. 2.) I ordered tournaments 17 through 21 today (birthday present from my mom ). I will give additional information about them in "the place" once I receive them in the mail. IIRC, Sasuke 16 took 5 days for it to get to me, but it might take a bit longer this time due to the approaching hurricane, so please be patient (furthermore, ripping them to my computer might take a while as well between college, work, and the potential loss of power from the hurricane, but I'll get it done once I have the chance). 3.) In my order, I asked as to whether or not they'll be able to get and/or sell any of the first 15 tournaments; if/when I receive a response, I will let you all know.

Sorry for the bump, haven't been keeping up with this topic.
I will be willing to pitch in for some purchases. Let me know which ones you want. I'll probably be willing to buy 3-4. I know we have all of the SASUKEs but as for the Sportsmans, that's not as reliable.

I know we have all of the SASUKEs but as for the Sportsmans, that's not as reliable. I actually received 17-21 in the mail on Wednesday, so now I have 16-21 on those 8 DVDs (20 and 21 were split into 2 separate discs, presumably due to length). The copies are very nice quality (I'm not sure if any of them are in HD, but if not then they're probably 480p), and most of the commercials are cut out. My only complaint is that they're not widescreen (they're 4:3 ratio instead of 16:9), but that's a fairly minor issue (I'm guessing that 22-27 are also like that). Also, each DVD only cost me $5 (and shipping is free on purchases of $25 or more), so the money thing isn't a big deal. As for when to expect more information about them you-know-where, it may be a week or two (I have a lot of stuff to do for college, plus I work in retail so that'll hold me back some more), so I ask everyone to please remain patient. BTW, they don't have all of the tournaments---just 16 through 27. However, they did send a receipt with their store's number to me, so I'm hoping to call them some time soon to ask about/request tournaments 1 through 15. When I receive a response, I will give an update in this thread. P.S.---These are the current DVDs available (spoilers due to size):

This is kind of a random question, but is anybody here able to speak Japanese AND do a huge favor for the Sasuke community? Because I have the website's e-mail address, phone number, and fax number, but none of those have helped me out in getting any sort of response from them (they've never responded to my e-mails yet, the guy on the phone speaks Japanese, and I don't have or know how to use a fax machine). If anyone is willing to help out, please let me know. Thanks!

Good news, bad news, and potentially-good news. Good news: I finally got a response to the e-mail I sent them! Bad news: They only have the DVDs available on their website, i.e. no Sasuke tournaments before 2005. Potentially good news: Although there's no guarantee of anything regarding it yet, the discussion found in this thread may give us some hope to the re-airing of not only 26 and 27 in Taiwan but also the other previous Sasuke tournaments. It will be something to keep an eye on for more news in the upcoming weeks.

Update: I'm in the process of ripping 17 through 21 to my laptop. IIRC, I've already mentioned that these DVD rips are high-quality recordings of the original TBS broadcasts. For example, below is a comparison between the DVD rip of 17 and the version which we already have of that tournament. (in spoilers due to size) BTW, I also recently purchased 24 and 25; since we already have a nice copy of 24, I'm going to try getting 25 up first. I will let you all know when the recordings will be available!
