that is really good, for the ratings front, it should around for 28, with a revamped and much more harder course. But this to me will secure it for sure.

For whatever reason (probably originating from 2ch) the Japanese SASUKE article has it at 16.7 which would make it first overall but it's unsourced and you'd think TBS would mention something like that. WOOHOO! ;D Hopefully Sasuke is saved!

It took a few days but yeah, the 16.7 thing on the Japanese wiki is gone and replaced with the 12.6 tweeted by TBS Pro Sales.

Hopefully next week when the weekly ratings come up we'll find out what happened with the rest of the list for Monday. Unless you know when that one page listed on page one of this thread is supposed to update?

The page doesn't update - never said they did. As far as I can figure out, recently TBS doesn't release ratings unless they want to (i.e. when it benefits them) and then people wait for Video Research to release the weekly rankings. TBS will put up a list of it's highest ranked shows for the week on it's main website. The broadcast week is usually Monday to Sunday.
It's only the ratings for TBS that's missing anyway. In terms of money, NHK doesn't really count since it is a public broadcast station.

Glad at least TBS updated the Sasuke number for us.

When should the hour by hour ratings come out? I remember there are times that part of the broadcast gets higher than the average for the whole show so that could mean something

As a pre-warning to everyone: SASUKE has been listed under Sports for the last few years in the Video Research categories. It will probably show up in the top ten but it used to be under Other (meaning variety shows and whatnot). This is sleight of hand by TBS: if SASUKE were listed as Other it would never show up in the top ten rankings.

Still though.. if TBS is willing to take this as a win I'm happier for it Thanks for taking the time to explain it. Things always work differently in Japan in how things are updated. I'm so used to daily rankings here available less than 24 hours from the airdate.

Re: hour by hour ratings.
As far as I can tell, the only time they released broken down ratings was when Yuuji's Final Stage attempt hit a high number. That was again TBS trying to drum up interest in the show by playing around with facts.

LOL we might get it anyway if the ratings were backloaded and the last hour that went up against news got higher than the rest of the show.. LOL Especially if they said they got 2nd when we know it was a little lower

I have a subjective plus point to add about this Sasuke's viewership. I currently live and work in Japan as an elementary school teacher and when Sasuke 26 aired in January... no one in the school saw it. I wore a Sasuke shirt to school and I think one teacher and like 3 students recognized what it was. After Sasuke 27 though, I got swarmed with kids asking where I got the shirt and most of the teachers recognized it. All of them adding the Japanese equivalent of "that's the show that aired on Monday right?" Most of the kids seemed unaware that there were 26 previous Sasukes!

That's a great story Honestly I'd email that to M9 and TBS because seriously they need to know that. Hoping between these numbers and fan clamor that it works in favor to bring 28

www.videor.co.jp/data/ratedata/top10.htmBy next Tuesday, this data will be moved to the VR archives for the week of 10/3 to 10/9 but for now, this is the link. SASUKE got the 12.6 that TBS tweeted. SASUKE finished 2nd in the Sports category. It's competition, Q-Sama and Nepleague were not able to crack the top ten in the Other category. If you were to just look for shows with the same time and date as SASUKE it would look great for the show but since we know that the other shows outpaced it that night and still weren't in the top ten it looks only sort of good. TBS benefited from their main competition (Fuji and Asahi) running quiz shows against each other. I'm not sure what would have happened if say, SMAP X SMAP ran a few hours earlier instead. The reason I harp on the categorization of the show in the ratings is because there were times in the past where SASUKE was listed as an Other and it didn't get as good placement (although still making the top ten). Over the past few years, ratings have moved away from dramas and gone towards variety shows (which is really what the Other category is for) making the competition stiffer. If SASUKE stayed an Other it would never be listed with it's current ratings. Yet on the main TBS and TBS On Demand websites, SASUKE is listed under Variety. Good move by TBS to get it reclassified but it sort of skews SASUKE's placement in the scheme of things.
