I knew G4, and those parent companies, wouldn't get involved if they didn't have something crazy in mind. I look forward to whatever it is they do as any continuation of anything sasuke related is awesome as far im concerned. I'm not happy that ANW is being used to compete with Wipeout given that ANW is inferior to Sasuke in every way shape and form. As usual G4 is not at all interested in Sasuke.. it's ANW they are hawking. This just about proves Sasuke is done after 27 as the Japanese articles mentioned. If there only showing the final 2 episodes, than they ARE showing a part of Sasuke 27. G4 and NBC just believe that showing foreigners turn people off apparently.

Funny considering that the reason why Ninja Warrior is famous is because of a 5'2" Japanese fisherman And that's a general statement and not directed at you. I see your point I just don't agree with the Comcast mentality which has been very VERY consistent). I just feel sad for the Japanese thinking that finally they will get recognition and they have no intention of showing them on network TV when the ONLY reason that show was popular was BECAUSE of the Japanese.

It's disappointing. I don't think most Japanese competitors really care, they're probably more worried about what is going on with Sasuke if anything.
Also, didn't it say ANW3 will air in Japan as well? I think that's even more ironic. They are willing to show a 100% American show, but we won't show a Japanese show... unless it has Americans of course.

No, the earlier parts of ANW will not be shown... remember the wording and how it was dealt with the first 2 times ANW were shown in US TV. "Finals of ANW" IS Sasuke 27 sans the Japanese. TBS will show the entire Sasuke 27 (gasp.. including the Americans provided they do well).. unlike G4 has done. As for Japanese competitors not caring.. where did you hear that? They do care. Personally it just puts that much more pressure on the 10 going to Japan.. seriously.. if they do as badly as they did before it would be horrible.. They are banking they can repeat the Sasuke 26 success.

He's saying a majority of them probably aren't as offended by G4's antics as you are. I believe that too, but that's just our opinions.

I gotta assume that the Japanese have more to worry about than what is going on in a foreign nation. But that's an assumption, not a fact.

While I like that it gets the name of Sasuke out there and I can see it on TV despite losing G4 because of DirecTV.. I think this is probably a bad idea.. Making people think "Ninja Warrior" is just some obstacle course everyone can just go and do (Them auctioning off a spot doesn't help either..). Besides, It's always been a bad idea showing it while excluding the other 90 competitors... uhhh.. 89.. >_> Also.. Please tell me the auction to compete needs you to be 18 and not 21, because if it is I need to start looking into how to get a job... Well they used the word "climax" enough to hint it will be the last Sasuke Lets hope by climax they just mean it like Den-O and just keep it going like the energizer bunny, I mean we already got a Den-O Tie-in in Sasuke

The Auction is this weekend. I didn't ask what Nagano sent. I can only assume they got stuff from various people so no idea of the contents. And it's not like G4 is even promoting this Juice while I agree that Japan has other things to worry about.. TBS has to fill 90 slots.. well.. 89 slots and given that the competitors WANT to know wtf is going on with Sasuke it's only natural that they are pissed that the Americans are getting first dibs and not the regular competitors. Hell.. even Lee's not happy about this. Edited: To be fair that's TBS's fault and not G4's.

Theres no way I can get a $#!+ ton of money within a couple of days.. at least not legally but at that point it'd just be easier to get a fake ID and sneak onto a plane to CA and win ANW3

OK, let me get my facts straight.
*NBC is airing two episodes of American Ninja Warrior. *ANW3 is airing in August. *SASUKE is airing "sometime in the fall" *Which means tape date around August-September
...?
Unless TBS gets their crap together really quick to make another 2 1/2 month standoff, methinks Comcast just screwed themselves over here.

Boot is late May into June, 2011. Sasuke is rumored to be late June but no date is confirmed yet. There is also no confirmed date for Sasuke 27 airing in either Japan NOR USA. We only know the Americans in Sasuke will be shown sometime in the fall on NBC. That's it.. it has nothing to do with sasuke 27. Case in point.. ANW2 competitors were shown in December, 2011 and the actually tourney hasn't even been shown yet in the USA... And yes.. the fact that no one but the Americans know it's even happening is ridiculous. That's TBS's fault though.

I wouldn't call this a fail. It's disappointing that we don't get the full tournament, but I'm EXTREMELY excited that some form of Ninja Warrior will be shown on NBC.

Honestly even if NBC showed a Sasuke tournament on their network, I'd trust it less than what G4 ever could do. They have the tools to scrutinize it more than G4 has depending on your opinion of Ninja Warrior.

Well we have a few months until it airs Now we can hear "WILL HE WIN HALF A MILLION DOLLARS!" every 3 minutes.. SPONSORED BY.... /facepalm Anyway.. I don't know why people think this is going to help Sasuke in Japan because it isn't.. it just helps ANW get some street cred so it can go up against Wipeout on ABC.

I think I've made it clear that I respect everyone's opinion here, and I feel comfortable giving my own.
I personally like that at least some form of Ninja Warrior will be shown to a huge audience. Showing the entire competition would be preferable (and I think actually more successful), but any amount is great.
We could argue about prize money, but the truth is that no competition show that airs on a huge network can get by without having an enormous grand prize- it's our culture.
I know my view isn't popular, but I do think this could help Sasuke in Japan if everything is played right.

While I respect the opinion of people not caring about the prize money (Lord knows we beat that dead horse the last time around).. this doesn't help Japan in any way. First of.. the money doesn't go to them (especially any prize money.. it's only the Americans) and b) for the last time .. TBS' ratings nationally are not impacted by what goes on here.. it doesn't.. so please move on for this notion that it's going to help Japan ratings in Japan..

Definitely agree with all of that. They say that only the Finals from ANW (ie Americans in 27 will be shown) but I'd wonder if they would expand it to the Japanese competitors if the Americans completely tank in 27. Say all 10 fail in stage 1 or no American makes it to Stage 3, I could see them opening up the competitor pool to the Japanese to make it a more appealing show to an audience. This is essentially G4's big coming out party to promote ANW, yet I can't see them just sticking with the Americans if they don't do well. I know they are saying only Americans now, but that is banking on the Americans doing very well which as we know, is never guaranteed.
