Monster 9 posted a small preview on their website. There are a couple of notable things that force upon the "final SASUKE" theory. INCOMING GOOGLE TRANSLATE DISASTERDecorate the dawn of year 2010 "the first ever New Year's Day battle!! SASUKE2010" SASUKE 24 broadcast TV's first New Year's Day and the second time! ! Appropriate for the evening of New Year's Day, New Year迎Emashou the best moments of glory that you see the complete domination! In the autumn of 2009, but advanced to the final, Nagano Makoto heroes after one of the best fishermen ever to complete the second 37-year-old missed the win. Nova Kanno Nishi also was named the finalists and the 24-year-old glory. Fully settled hero battle vs the top of a rising star, will best be seen on the stage of history's first New Year's Day battle. Allstars hero or SASUKE, SASUKE or rising star, or the strongest or entertainer! ? Nagano Makoto is "absolutely perfect next step is to win," said the governor. And Kanno Nishi, only 22 finalists in the competition was once one of the people, "shoe salesman" Urushihara Yuuzi 31-year-old rising star. Nyuhiro the two men "have been practicing in my life. Always fully equipped two people to win!創Rimasu SASUKE and a new era." And stage confidence before the big New Year's Day of Broadcasting BPA said. In addition, unmarked man wowed the venue SASUKE! ! The man really is! ? We are aiming to win men invasion force completely, and two times of challenge and Audrey Kasuga, Kyai's first race and finally - and topics, including entertainer of the icon Udo Suzuki, active top athletes, such as Japan national soccer W cup aims the vertices in the hardball. In addition, KUNOICHI complete domination of the two, the Komiya Eri Massurumyujikaru (previous tournament record of women), the sister of gymnastics and Noboru Misa Kadoi new SASUKE aim first female 1st Stage Clear! ! 40 generations ago and the 1st Annual Meeting of the first played brilliantly clear the stage, the Sato Hiromiti Gym Teacher, "I will never go to the 3rd stage! Go all the way!" Declared. And let's not forget, life SASUKE, "Sasuke" Mr. Yamada Katsumi 44 years "is that if this is the last Dattara bad." Challenge at the risk of his retirement. Truly, a man fully accomplished Who won? ? January 1, 2010, "full of dreams, achieve win!" Please come to visit you! ! --- Note the bolded text. Doesn't that pretty much mean they want someone to achieve kanzenseiha? Granted they may not want the end but they certainly want someone to win. Badly. Also they mention Satomi Kadoi and Komiya Rie will be there and are expected to clear the 1st stage? WTF? No woman, even back when Masami Yusa and Yuko Mizuno were regular competitors, could come close (other than Nishimura in SASUKE 2 but come on, a monkey could clear that course). Also they're hyping Sato to get to the Final Stage (pfft!) Okay, let's put 2 and 2 together. They want someone to win, a woman to clear the First Stage, and Sato to make the final. What does this mean? AN EASIER COURSE! I have a strong feeling that there's going to be some SASUKE 4-esque results this time around. And finally, this could come as no shock, but Yamada is threatening to retire again. I can imagine Ube really wants him to give up this time Confirmed competitors: Nagano Makoto Urushihara Yuuji Kanno Hitoshi Audrey Kasuga Kyai something Udo Suzuki Komiya Rie Kadoi Satomi Hiromichi Sato Yamada Katsumi Surprise guest NOTE: No mention of either Takeda or Yamamoto? NOTE 2: NO MENTION OF AMERICANS?!? Uh oh!

This is normal... not to be mean but they always come up with this before it's taped. Then after it's taped you get a longer list on the TBS site since they know for sure who's coming. Considering it also took the entire page (almost as long as Sportsman #1) it's just filled with hype. As for no Americans.. the Japanese public doesn't tune in to see them They are putting the names that they think will get attention and viewers in Japan. Also.. to my knowledge.. Levi is not going so the one person that actually has recognition with the rest of the fans is not going so there's no need to put them on the list. P.S. They are REALLY going to go overboard on Yamada's retirement...

Levi's not going? Although I really don't like him I still think it's a shame, I reckon he could've got to the final stage this time around, the Shin-cliff hanger was the only thing holding him back in my opinion.

I believe someone posted that he changed his Facebook status for Sasuke 24 as not going. This actually corresponds with rumors that a lot of the pro freerunners are contracted to do a TV series .. not sure which one but they have prior commitments. I'm sure no one was expecting Sasuke to be taped in December.. so that's understandable.

Watch out for those complete men invasion forces, lol! But who is this unmarked man they are talking about? That sucks they went from talking about old all stars vs new all stars vs American, now it seems like no Americans at all this time around. Hmmmm...well at least from G4 anyway, lets hope one of the few that applied directly gets a heads up soon!

This is a press release. Nothing more, nothing less. And produced before the actual show to boot.
They are not saying Sato will get to the Final Stage. It's Sato making the "declaration" himself. And since Sato is more famous than the All-Stars and most of the non-celebrity competitors in the bigger scheme of things it's only natural they mention him.
straticus - the unmarked man is a reference to marking an opponent (like in soccer). Basically they are just saying that there might be someone who will succeed that isn't getting any attention or publicity from anyone (the public, M9, etc).

This is exciting.
Both in a good way and in a bad way.
The word "vs." makes me shiver. And when they say, "One women will reach the 2nd stage," that makes me think there going to do the "Vs" thing like Kunoichi.
I hate paranoia and rumors though.
I honestly don't think this will be the last Sasuke, infact, if this goes well, there may be a spawn of even more tournaments, due to the popularity of this one.

Lol if levi and david and brian arn't going then whoe the hell is G4 sending?
Guess they're gretting that 21 years and older requirment now, HUH?!
Well, considering all of their picks are pretty much out of the question, it'd be quite awesome if they choose from the video.
In which case, I hope Ryan and Brian are chosen!

It doesn't say that they expect a woman to clear (or that one of them will clear). Just that the two KUNOICHI winners are "aiming" to be the first woman/women to clear the "new" SASUKE.

@jp: I'm kinda worried too, they're so heavily bent on getting a winner that it pretty much seems as if they're going to do a versus format, at least for the final stage. Because if they expect Nagano to do it, what if he slips up on an obstacle he should pass (i.e. Jumping Spider)?

Ok what I'm about to say is going to sound a little mean but it needs to be said.
First off, this is NOT a prediction or a goal of M9 in that passage. It's no different than if the Lakers played the Cavs in the NBA finals you saw an ad like this.
"Come see Kobe vs LeBron in the greatest finals ever! Will either of these 2 stars score 100 points in a game? Will Phil Jackson get so mad at his defense cause of LeBron's dunks he benches his whole team? Will Ron Artest get LeBron so upset that they start another version of The Malice in the Palace? Better watch the NBA finals and find out!"
Now lets review this statement 1: No player in today's game would score 100 points in the NBA Finals 2: Phil Jackson would never bench his whole team cause they got dunked on 3: The last thing the NBA wants is another fight to spill into the stands that involves some of its biggest stars.
So why would they put something like that? Simple reason: To generate excitment and hype for the competition. You'll see this before almost any major sporting event. This does not mean that M9 wants all the things in that or that they think any of them are remotely possible, they are just throwing them out there to get people interested. And as Arsenette pointed out earlier, this is nothing new, they do this before most of their major shows.
Drawing any solid conclusions based off of that, which by the way from what I can tell isn't even translated right in several spots, is not even just starting rumors, its spreading nothing but completely baseless garbage.
Ube already mentioned that it doesn't say that 2 women are going to clear, it says they are going to try to. That's no different than when it was before every tournament that Yuko Mizuno was going to clear, and we all saw how that turned out. I feel this needs to be said because I dont want to see the boards flooding with "OMG they are doing a vs so everyone can clear!" or "OMG they are making it so easy that all the women can clear and have multiple winners", "OMG this is gonna suck worse than K8"
Those of you who took the time to get this far in my message hopefully got what was needed out of it... Calm Down!!
This does not mean that they ruining or completely changing Sasuke. This does not mean that they are trying to push Sato to the finals or all the all stars to win. It's just trying to generate some attention with the fans. That is all.

Every single announcement (feel free to go back and research them) are filled with hype. I know I got carried away earlier thinking it was the last one. I remember when everyone was thinking the same thing after Sasuke 21 when Nagano got jipped by the grinding ring. That said I've come to the conclusion that just because it was moved earlier that doesn't mean it will end. None of us were around when they moved it in 2005 so it feels dramatic (then continued with THREE that year).. then in 2006 (the only tournament that year) Nagano won. They are trying something new and yes they want another champion but that doesn't mean it's the end. For now keep the posts to what the forum thread is about.. calling it telling it.. I don't care what people call it.. it's frustrating opening every single thread and hearing this. No wonder most people don't know wtf is going on.. they read that and think it's just another thread and forget to READ what the topic is all about. Back to topic. The name that stands out in the list is the Audrey guy. I do remember him being a huge name in Japan even if I now almost nothing about him. It's good they are securing a lot of recognizable names. That could help the channel flippers from changing channels and staying on the show and raising it's ratings. Hoping they drop more hints. In the next few weeks after the show is taped we should be finding out more. The wait between the 8th and the 1st is going to be llllllllllllllllooooooooong.. P.S. Great post Supersheep

Be interesting to see what hype is written by M9 after the taping is done - they pulled no strings bigging up the new hero thing and that the final had been reached <- one the reporters as good as gave that away in her blog, back in sasuke 22.
So if something big does happen IE a victor id expect some subtle hints at it again like the new hero thing in 22 and tbh after seeing that K8 commercial earlier in year i'd not be suprised when new year sasuke trailers come over xmas if they did show the final stage clear smoke jets like they did with K8 without showing who it was who pressed the button.

Well to be fair they showed the final stage well before K8. K8 had it's own issues because of the massive change after 2 years in hiatus. I don't see that at all happening with Sasuke. And yes I'm interested in reading the TBS page when taping is done. Dunno how fast they will have it up.. it will be 3 full weeks before it's even shown..
