Yamada deserves the title "Mr. Sasuke." He's been in all but one tournament and he shows a lot of heart and determination. That's what I admire about him. Nagano deserves the title "King of Sasuke," but Yamada is "Mr. Sasuke." What the announcer did was really uncalled for. Yamada looked hurt. And I wouldn't think they would do something like that in Japan. Saying that he doesn't know why Yamada is called Mr. Sasuke because it's really Nagano who deserves the title. I would think that would cause Yamada to lose face. Honor and saving face are very important in Japan. I'm sure that also put Nagano in an awkward position. The announcer called him by his friend's nickname. That was meant to be a compliment, but it put Nagano in an awkward position. How do you react to something like that? That really annoyed me. But hopefully Yamada will do well in Sasuke 24 and show the announcer (and everyone else) that he's still Mr. Sasuke.

Even if you just knew the announcers said Mr. Sasuke after Nagano cleared in a re-run, just by watching the sidelines you can pretty much tell his thoughts on the matter... So that's what the announcer was saying in 22? Damn.. I have got to learn Japanese because I saw the whole broadcast and didn't know about something that major...

I think he too will fail the jumping spider in 24 sadly!
Also MISTER SASUKE should be Yamamoto hes been in them all! But I know hes done less promotion outside the show.
Nagano IS THE KING unquestionably though!

lol, I'm pretty sure Shingo did absolutely no promoting until recently.
I remember Arsenette making a big deal about it, how he finally went to muscle park and stuff.

Shingo needs his own Sasuke title. Yamada is Mr. Sasuke and Nagano is the King of Sasuke, but Shingo has been in every tournament, so I think he should have his own Sasuke title.

He has a title which is written as his profile every time. Basically it says he is the only man with a perfect SASUKE attendance record.
Doesn't really roll off the tongue, but hey, it's a title.

Then you could argue Akiyam Takeda and bunpei need one. Yaada has the title because that's their way of recognizing him. Just like Shingo is a gas station manager Takeda is a fire fighter etc Akiyama is the first winner, crab fisherman. There isn't really any "catch" for Yamada. You can't say he has the best record, he doesn't have any job that you can list, so what do you put? Well, they just go with his old name he got back in Sasuke 4ish. And it still stands. Take that away from him and well... that's retarded.

Maybe Nagano should be called King Sasuke the Second?

LOL! I like how everyone is ripping on Wataru Ogasawara, I find it to be pretty amusing.
Yamada should get a new nickname that should now be King Of Mr. Sasuke =)

Also, Takeda's "title" (that is, it gets mentioned every single time he appears) is "Japan's Strongest Firefighter", and Bunpei's (though I've only started hearing it used recently) is "Hero of Inba". I assume Akiyama's has something to do with crab fishing, but I don't really remember.

lol, I'm pretty sure Shingo did absolutely no promoting until recently. I remember Arsenette making a big deal about it, how he finally went to muscle park and stuff. To be fair. I was corrected that Nagano started the whole appearance thing after he won. Muscle Park opened after he won and he was already doing the Maguro Festival and started adding All-Stars when budget allowed. Shingo came in technically year 2 since his employer doesn't let him out as much (he is District Manager after all.. ) while Nagano's practically pays him to do promotional things since it helps the company as well. Having more events near Tokyo allowed Shingo also to pop in real quick so he's been around more often. As for titles.. everyone has it. It's actually part of the Application believe it or not. It's under Occupation. Some are given titles at that time and every one has it. It's up to the Announcer to use it or not. Some are more dramatic sounding than others

I think he can beat the first stage. He needs to train harder for the warped wall. That's what really slowed him down this time. He did end up failing the slider jump, but he made the same mistake Nagano did in 22, so next time he'll know better. The wall is what really gave him trouble. He showed that he can go fast enough. He had a good pace and was making good time until he got to the wall. In 24 if he can beat the wall in time, like on his first or second attempt, then he can beat the stage. I don't think he'll have any trouble with the slider jump. I REALLY want to see him beat the first stage again. Actually, I want to see him and Shingo beat the entire course. If anyone deserves kanzen seiha, it's Yamada and Shingo. They've both been there since the very first tournament. Shingo has been in every tournament and Yamada has been in all but one. I really hope they both achieve kanzen seiha in Sasuke 24. I'll be cheering for them.[/quote Yeah, in 23 if he does not fail the SJ he'll definitely time out there.

I actually expected Yamada to pass stage 1 in 23 and predicted Shingo to pass in 22 but since he failed in 22 but passed 23, then I predict Yamada to pass stage 1 in 24.
But I'll end up being wrong anyway.
Poor Yamada, I don't what his fate holds for future Sasuke competitions. But I hope one day he'll do something unexpected and pass stage 1, so I'll try not to expect anything from him.

Nagano's name should be THRILLER, Shingo's should be MR Perfect Attendance. I hope, as hard as he works, he achieves total victory. I know how hard it is to have a dream, work as hard I can, maximize all the talent God gave me, and just not get there. It's heartbreaking, especially when critics seem to come out of the woodwork to cut you down. Except for the Joke competitors, those who are only there for the free plug, I feel for all those who fail. Critics usually fall into 2 categories, those who are gifted by God with more physical ability and think that makes them better than me (though with all they have, they still find pleasure in cutting me down), and those who given up on trying to be great (or never set out to be) but can tell me how THEY would have done it. I raced in 17 long distance bicycle races before I finished better than dead last. I didn't give up, and I started to get results, I missed the podium by one spot (I would have made it, if I hadn't celebrated early, and got passed). It never would have happen if I would have taken all that advice I got and quit! Go Yamada KANZENSEIHA!!!!

I hear ya. I do martial arts. I've been in seven tournaments and haven't yet gotten first place. The tournament a couple of weeks ago was my best one so far. I got 4th place in weapons kata and 2nd place in empty-hand. That's better than I did back in April, but it's still not first place like I wanted. I'm not going to give up, though. I'm going to keep working at it and keep competing. I don't think Shingo and Yamada will quit Sasuke. I think they can achieve kanzen seiha. Shingo just needs to be a bit more careful and Yamada needs to quit psyching himself out. Go Shingo and Yamada!
