I got back from Vegas a little bit ago and I unexpectedly got to see Matsuri (we didn't know it was playing).
I'm exhausted now, but I'll share my experience tomorrow.
It was awesome, just like I imagined. I think a couple of Sasuke competitors were there, but with the lights and make-up/costumes, I wasn't completely sure.
Unfortunetely, they didn't do a curtain call so they didn't give any names.

This will most definitely be on my To-Do list next time I head there (probably spring '10). I'm glad you enjoyed it too!

Thanks for the link Arsenette. I remebered that page but I couldn't find it at first. There were two I definitely recognized during the performance. I recognized Hiroyo Shimada- she played the cute bird and did the ENORMOUS Hula Hoop (honestly it was like 10 feet in diameter). I also recognize Tatsumi- he was one of the lead males. On a side note (and I hate to say this since I hate starting rumors) but I'm worried about the future of Muscle Musical in Vegas. We didn't expect the showroom to be packed since went to an early 4 o'clock seating, but there were honestly only about 50 people there. Also when we left, we were asked by multiple Imperial Palace staff members throughout the hotel if the show was crowded and if we liked the show. I hope that doesn't mean anything, and I hate even bringing this up.

All shows in Vegas are being hit hard with the economy. They also book from month to month which is why so many people thought the show was over since it only shows one month at a time. Depending on how they do each month their contract is extended. So far they've lasted since July so they seem to be doing fine. Keeping a show in Vegas is actually pretty difficult so I give them kudos for lasting as long as they have.

Lucky! I love Vegas and wish I could have gone! It would have been amazing to get a picture with a Sasuke competitor. Maybe next time .

Just got home from Vegas and I agree that Matsuri is an AWESOME show. You definitely should see it if you ever visit. Very high energy and the performers are really talented! It really was great seeing the Sasuke competitors in their element. I would watch this show again if I ever had the chance. My photo with Sasuke 21 and 22 competitor Yasuaki Yoshikawa!

LasVegas.com has tickets available up until August 4. I'm not sure if they're going to be there beyond that. I'm banking that they'll still be there till the end of the year since they just moved to Imperial Palace just recently.

I wish they could move to a nicer hotel. The Imperial Palace is one of the worst on the strip.
The stage was barely big enough. The guy had to start off-stage to do the Monster Box.
Still, I'm so glad they're there. After all the questioning by the casino staff, I was certain it was on its last leg. Maybe if it becomes really big, they can expand and do the full-sized show.

While I would want them to do better it's been a full year away from life in Japan. That's really hard on them emotionally. I know they miss their lives and their family and friends. I hope they go back home soon.

Matsuri's been on the Strip for a while now (albeit different locations - Riviera, Sahara, Imperial Palace), but it's still pretty fresh and can keep up with Cirque du Soleil shows anyday. People have been comparing it to Cirque, but at a fraction of the price. So I can still see it going on at least for another year.

Aresenette made a good point about the current cast missing missing home. So if they can swap the cast, they might be able to continue Matsuri without a break.
It 's a great show and I think it has a lengthy future in Vegas.

So I'm heading back to Vegas again in Jan and will most likely be seeing Matsuri once again! Glad to see it's still going strong at Imperial Palace. Can't wait!!
