Not sure if my last post for last week's episode disappeared, or I forgot to finish it, but I remember typing something up...
Last week we went back to the new course and saw the other pathway for the beginning.
This week is a redemption episode where 8 previous teams are brought back.
It's also episode 20, so I think it's the season finale.

Sorry to interrupt the thread to give something of an opinion piece, but just having watched all of the reboot that I was able to watch... yeah this reboot isn't great. It honestly just reinforces my belief that despite being the original this show could never hold a candle to Total Wipeout UK. I miss that show a lot, it had genuinely fair courses that actually did somewhat award you for athleticism rather than literally unpredicatable obstacles knocking you in the face.
As is this reboot is just painfully mediocre. Got none of the charm early Wipeout USA had, feels like a worse version of the later seasons. Also has the same issue that was mentioned before of having nothing to build up to in terms of a finale, which TWUK avoided by having a Champion of Champions at the end of each series with every finalist returning.
Also like really confused at the target audience. Clearly wants to appeal to children yet has a promo for The Suicide Squad (great film but probably shouldn't be shown to young children) and really unsubtle sexual jokes.

Something I've noticed with the last 2 episodes is that they premiered in 57-minute timeslots, and the rerun immediately after.
What usually happens is the opposite where networks might give a popular primetime show 1 or 2 extra minutes for commercials that they sell to ad companies.
There also wasn't anything around it those nights that got the extra time. It was just reruns of Young Sheldon, I think.
This could mean anything or nothing at all about the network's confidence in the show.

Season 2 aired 5 episodes back in November and just disappeared from the schedule since.
It was pretty much a continuation of the previous season. The second half of Season 1 was practically a Season 2, so this one feels more like a Season 2B.
Only a few obstacle swaps in the first stage. I did like episode 4's first stage which felt somewhat like it could be on Takeshi's Castle, especially the Blended + Nicole's Knockers combo at the start.
Episode 1 had a quick cameo from John Henson as part of a gag about alternate universes.
There wasn't much about the courses or runs that was interesting enough to keep my full attention the way the new Takeshi's Castle did.
Still spending a lot of time interviewing the runners and constantly cutting back to the hosts. A lot of runs are just highlight reels.
I did have some laughs but that was it. It's something to put on in the background basically.
"Now she can fill her trophy case with regrets."

I feel like the writer's strike is gonna revive more of these reality shows. I'm surprised they haven't imported Takeshi's Castle or American Gladiators yet.
