We still have to make videos and apply - believe me they have told us that, together, and apart, quite a few times. That's too bad. I mean, all that is is a way for NBC to get free labor out of the competitors, i.e. to gather stock footage for their use without having to hire out themselves for it. But whatev. I guess some people probably like doing it.

maybe he was joking? if I were to achieve total victory I'd be less motivated to come back. preparing for anw requires a lot of time/hard work and it's even more challenging if you have many other obligations.I also find the competition itself very stressful, but that's just me, I get stressed out even at small local comps lol I was Joking - but as they say, in any joke there is 70% truth. My wife wants to be on the show again - and if im there is a lock for her to get a call. So ill be there! That said - it is stressful. Itd be easy to walk away from, yet i know id miss it. Its such a journey, and i hope all of you who want to, get to experience it. You think city qualifiers are nerve wracking?!? My thoughts on Courses rankings on your nerves. Least nerve wracking and up. City finals (Already done most of the course, rested, usually pure upper-body) Stage 2 (First run of the night, you already have done awesome) Stage 1 (Better finish, and you better go fast!) City Qualifier (No one wants to fall here, but it takes out the most people!) Stage 3 (You're already a legend, but you know what lays beyond) Stage 4 (Stand under a 75 foot rope and look up. You'll understand)

City finals (Already done most of the course, rested, usually pure upper-body) Taking that with a grain of salt Geoff! That seems to be your specific comfort zone! (Completely makes sense for you) I'm surprised that the regional finals aren't more stressful as you are directly competing against other competitors who have already proven that they have what it takes to do well.

As far as the topic goes, the finalists technically don't have a free pass but mostly likely effectively do in practice as the writers would want to have as much footage of them as possible.

Yes they should both have to go through the Regionals. Now the submission videos, no. The reason I say they need to qualify is because the obastcles are so tough in regionals they can even take out season veterans. So if you take 2 people that have beaten the whole thing and automatically put them into Vegas, their odds of beating the whole course again is very high. To me thats not fair to the guy that has came up through the ranks of the regional and may be beaten in stage 4 to someone has already won it.

Of course they should have too. I'd imagine Geoff and Isaac wouldn't want to sit out anyways.

It would bw fantastic for ratings if isaac shredded up the regionals and did pull ups at the warped wall x warrior style.
Ok I'l stop giving him ideas.

Oops. I voted for "life-time pass for Vegas" but come to think of it, it could be disappointing not able to see the champions tackling new quirky obstacles in city finals. Now, if obstacles in city finals had a bit more variety and better pacing... (I liked some of newer ones)

What's with all these weird suggestions. Most of them are terrible!!!!
I see it at DUHHH of course everyone should start over the same. Just because someone won last year doesn't mean they won't fall on the quintuple steps this year.
It's a fair chance for everyone.
If someone got far enough last year does that mean they should skip regionals? No! What kind of reasoning is that! Omg these replies are too funny.
