Dammit.. TBS is not doing the Youtube update of the competitors of the first stage. The Sasuke team who would have been responsible for uploading it have been disbanded and reassigned to other projects within TBS (as per protocol). Aw, that's too bad. Any chance of the full list of results at least being posted?

No idea on both questions. My guess is try asking Inui to see if he can pass that along up the chain and hope for the best. You can tell TBS expected 31 to tank so they could be done with it. Little to no effort was spared for the aftermath. As far as they are concerned they will reconvene next year. It's incredibly frustrating for both of us right now.

Hey arsenette, do you think that inui puts some special efforts to produce sasuke in comparison to the other tbs shows? Thanks

Great to see a final victory !
Sad to see the decline of Nagano. 44 isn't really that old.

It's frightening to see the all stars aging before our eyes save for Shingo who still looks seriously younger than he really is... oh shoot his birthday is coming up! O.O I hope this isn't an omen of things to come for them... Even Yuuji isn't that younger than Takeda is!

is the warped wall the same in all of the ANW setups around the world ? yes i know it was after the shoulder charge pushing obstacle but in ANW uk and sweden, everyone was getting up the warped wall like it was nothing but many really struggled in this last Sasuke
The japanese competitors (many anyway) do lack a bit of upper body max strength compared to the americans and europeans
I still think Sasuke needs much more new talent, they need open trials like ANW where anyone can compete in prelim tournaments to make the finals. There would be tons of great Japanese athletes capable of real damage
But Japan has always been a country heavy on tradition hence the irreverance for the All stars. If ANW had the same philosophy, Brian Orosco and Levi Meuingberg would be straight into the finals every year and treated really well.

The wall has not changed at all.. the addition of the tackle to sap strength made all the difference in the world. And it has nothing to do with upper body strength. .it's all core and legs to do the tackle efficiently. Those who used their upper body failed the tackle and the wall miserably. And I disagree with the 2nd half but that's personal opinion. Especially since Sasuke has been criticized of late of not allowing a lot of fan favorites and "regulars" to make way for new people. It's literally luck of the draw who gets on the the show AND do well. We were spoiled by the previous generation's consistency.

Each have differnt formats and attitudes torwards their own format. With that said, SASUKE already has auditions but SASUKES is more CONSICE. It picks out only strictly the best out of what they do but with ANW you have to wait eight weeks while ANW airs their preliminaries. ANW has prelims that are way to open and it simply relies on the fastest ans it doenst matter much more if u pass or not. Now, in average only like 10 people pass the prelims from 5 different regions with about 2 known compititors from each region. So in other words ANW, in my opinion, wastes too much time in the season with the prelims. 90% of the people fail in the qualifyung and semifinal rounds which means that by the Vegas finals, stage 1 , 95% of everyone fails on the jumping spider. now you most of the same people in stage 2 and you can thats pretty much it. there are som promising people but... buth systems can come to the same result but SASUKES is faster and more efficient.

Takeda doesn't wear the orange anymore. However Mike Bernardo did in the last tournament in the audience. Foreshadowing perhaps? I'm sensing a late replacement. MMMMMMMANNNNN don't I wish!!!

MMMMMMMANNNNN don't I wish!!! Wear them in ANW. Were the ones you wore in ANW6 Takeda's? In St. Louis? Nah, they were the closest thing I could find in one of the local sporting goods stores on short notice... but definitely an homage!! The black "FIRE RESCUE EMS" Tank I wore during Vegas this year was his, though. It's funny.... well, not funny, slightly depressing. Me and Strat were lamenting the fact that a lot of these Sasuke references we've been dropping probably fly right over the heads of 99.9% of the viewership at this point. We both even noticed times where we yelled something Sasuke-related in Vegas, and had it over-dubbed with a generic yell sound. The 4 backslap ceremonies got cut, too. We'll keep fighting the good fight, though! ...................................... for what it's worth.... :***-(

It be amazing if he has.

I hope someone can at the very least tell me the times of the competitors so I can put it on the wiki (yeah, yeah wiki's in utter disrepair, but it still gives info).

I'm posting this here because I don't think it's big enough to warrant its own thread, but is there a DQ rule on the salmon ladders if the competitor went up more than one level at a time. Eg from 1st rung to 3rd rung. Similarly going down on the kudari SL. From the training videos and sasuke Vietnam we've seen ryo do it (ascending), and probably a few others could, and I think its more efficient but is there be a rule against it?

Wow... I could kick myself for waiting 4 months after the live broadcast to finally get around to watching Sasuke 31. My new job that I started in January requires extensive summer hours and as much as I wanted to watch Sasuke live, it just didn't work out. I kept telling myself I'd get around to watching it, but after my hectic summer came a hectic fall with some serious family emergencies. I woke up today with no family at home and with nothing on my calendar, and the first thought that came into my head was to watch Sasuke 31. I don't know where that thought came from, but I'm glad it did. I thought this was one of the best Sasukes of all time because every aspect of the tournament was spot-on. It was the combination of Morimoto's flawless Kanzenseiha, the enhanced tech and graphics of the broadcast, the pacing and editing of the broadcast, the heartfelt commentary and emphasis on family and community, and very good overall competitor performance that made Sasuke 31 brilliant. It's no secret that I was less than thrilled with Sasukes 28-30, and I attributed much of my disappointment to poor decisions made by Inui. However, it's almost like Inui heard me directly and fixed nearly all of the problems from his prior broadcasts. The pacing was so good (with the exception of cutting the top female competitors) and I surprisingly really liked the focus on the commentators and their genuine enthusiasm throughout. I loved seeing Sasuke's very first obstacle brought back and I thought the Music Box was a much more skill-based and fair obstacle than the Hedgehog. I also loved seeing the Tackle Machine brought back because it was a draining lead-in to the Warped Wall and it allowed more competitors to make it deeper in the course making the first stage more exciting. The "Up and Down" Salmon ladder was great in the second stage and although I still abhor the Backstream, at least it seemed fair. The effects on the Spider Walk were cool too I'm still not crazy about the third stage because the Cliff Hanger still dominates the stage like it has since Sasuke 18. I also don't like how the first two obstacles seem similar in the technique used to clear and in what muscles they test. I did like the Sidewinder because each jump was thrilling and it required competitors to be on the obstacle for awhile. The Vertical Limit upgrade was unnecessary considering how rare it is to even make it there. The final stage was brilliant - the obstacles themselves and Morimoto's performance. I'm so glad that Sasuke 31 turned out so well and I'm looking forward to Sasuke 32 LIVE and not 4 months later! .
