I actually thought the 25 Reasons special was pretty cool, but the All Star special was beyond stupid. "The Nagano and Levi show." Obvious leftover footage from Sasuke 24 but still fun to watch. It's nice having an English "navi." Overall I was very pleased with the Sasuke broadcast. I know most of you guys dislike G4's version, but everthing was alright for me. My only qualm was that Okuyama's and Hashimoto's second stage runs were fast-forwarded. They should have put the second stage runs after the final commercial in the next episode.

I enjoyed the 25 Reasons. I liked how the whole thing wasn't all entirely serious, nor was it entirely goofy; they mixed it up as they went along. There were some bits that were sort of cheesy and some that felt too short, but overall, I thought it was pretty fun.
As a heads-up, the guide description for the All Star special does say, "A history of the show, with all-star players Makoto Nagano and Levi Meeuwenberg." So it was probably going to be about Nagano and Levi. As it turns out, it was exactly that.
Anyway, I didn't have any problems watching the special, but I felt it was out of place and maybe some kind of special on how the course and the obstacles have evolved would've been more appropriate. I don't mind seeing any kind of special really, at least they're showing something. It's not like they re-run their pre-Sasuke specials that often anyway.
I also thought the broadcast of this Sasuke went pretty well.

After watching the "25 Reasons to Worship Ninja Warrior" thing, I'm starting to wonder if the G4 staff was high or something when they were making it. If you ask me, it seemed more like one of those MTV countdowns or something along those lines. Was that supposed to be a joke or something? Nevertheless, I'm pretty glad that Mr. Octopus was put as the #4 reason to watch it. That was one of the few decent things about it. Though I was also surprised how they actually got some of the facts and records right (ex.: they said how that 44-year-old surfer in Sasuke 1 was the oldest person to ever clear Stage 1). I had over 8700 seizures throughout the special. Psychedelic is not even the word for it. But dare I say... yes I liked it. It was wacky and weird, bit pretty cool. It was oddly informational as well. I never said I disliked it, I honestly thought it was actually not that bad either. Some of the things that they did were really random (and in some cases pretty funny), which made it interesting to watch. However, it also had a lot of weird singing and stuff that made me think, "WHAT THE F*** WAS THE G4 STAFF ON WHEN THEY MADE THIS?!?". So overall, it was OK but could have been much better as well. It's just that I was expecting something more serious than what they gave us. As for the "All-Star Special", I guess that was decent as well but that also could've been a lot better as well. And the G4 broadcast of 25 was pretty decent IMO, though there were some issues that I saw with it. My biggest complaint was probably how they fast-forwarded Akiyama's run again. They kept saying how "both former champions (referring to Nagano and Urushihara) are out to achieve 'Total Victory' again", and I get how they should put more emphasis on them than Akiyama since they're probably more likely to win again than him, but they pretty much tossed him aside acting like his Kanzenseiha was barely worth mentioning. Also, they were once again focusing a lot on "All-Stars vs. New Generation", and this time even repeatedly mentioned "Who's #1 American: Levi or Brian?", both of which ticked me off a little since they seem to act like succeeding on the course is primarily about man outbeating fellow man instead of everyone against the course. Other than these and a few other minor issues that I noticed, I guess it was at least better than the 2 pre-shows.

Unless G4 mistranslated, although I did hear him say "Number" when he was saying "Can Brian be the Number 1 American?" And I thought it was really good. No stupid false facts. And they showed the competitors interviews a bit more (Although still not as much honestly) but good enough for the American audience I guess. I also loved that color effect they had, where whenever a competitor failed, they would take out color, I thought that was cool. And the Ninja Warrior recap is stupid. Overall I liked it! (To me anyways) G4 is on a roll!

Who's #1 American: Levi or Brian?", both of which ticked me off a little since they seem to act like succeeding on the course is primarily about man outbeating fellow man instead of everyone against the course. Other than these and a few other minor issues that I noticed, I guess it was at least better than the 2 pre-shows. Well, what do you expect? It's G4 trying to pander to an American crowd. And Americans are all about competition. Just watch any other sports show and it's about who's in the lead or who's beating who. Even Wipeout is all about having the fastest time. That's what makes Sasuke unique, it's man Vs environment, pure and simple. Doesn't matter how many people beat it, the premise has remained unchanged. Even with the All-Stars vs New Stars, it's still more of a matter of Honor over who beats who. What's funny is that the fans get it, and even Alison, Kevin, and Olivia get it as well. Yet the morons in charge of G4 aren't happy til they're F'ing up the concept cuz "it'll pull in more ratings". It's the whole unique concept of how Sasuke works that draws in the fans that will stay the course to keep the ratings going.

Wow.. Nagano's 25 reasons clip was so screwed up.. he was 15 (not 13) when he graduated Junior high (9th grade for us in the USA) and became a fisherman (his birthday is in March so he turned 15 the same month he graduated). Stupid little errors here and there but at least it wasn't as major as the others. There wasn't 2500 athletes.. there were 2500 attempts... The repeat competitors and vets eat up a lot of that number. God I hate the rap (except L.L. but I digress. I prefer old school ). Overall it wasn't as crappy as I thought it was going to be and at least the host was not annoying (there's one massive positive). I had to laugh at the Katsumi Yamada thing.. but hey.. people like him so I'll stay out of it

I just saw the 25 reasons. It was pretty dumb, but god damn, if there's anything I'd give G4, it's their graphics department. The whole show just had a shi*t load of special effect etc.
I thought the Button moving thing was pretty hilarious.
It was silly, which I sort of like since it seems every Ninja Warrior special is usually serious.

(except L.L. but I digress. I prefer old school ). I gotta admit I was singing it when I heard it lol. Plus, you can't make funny parodies like these with most of the songs today.

JP it wasn't dumb. It had pretty cool effects, like the tsunami's on the course. I hate it that I missed the first part, but good thing I had it recorded. The special after it was serious. I was all like" f**** I MISSED IT!" I thought the face at the top of the entrance gate was awesome. I thought why show Kuramochi in the loincloth, not cool. G4 is flawed. I didn't see any errors in their broadcast of SASUKE 25, but if you could point any out, I'd like to know

G4 is flawed. I didn't see any errors in their broadcast of SASUKE 25, but if you could point any out, I'd like to know Lets see... Competitor Orders, The subtitles, their fact-checking, The fact that despite the correct narration and subs the name boxes only said "Salmon Ladder" and "Cliff Hanger" for the Double Salmon Ladder and Ultimate Cliffhanger. Somewhere in the broadcast it said Kouji was 5 2 and isn't 169 cm like 5 5 or 5 6 or something? , , Doorknob Grasper becomes Doorknob Grasp. Oh.. one more thing... (If somehow you didn't know it's NOT called "Roulette Wheel".. It's called "Roulette Cylinder"... Hell.. I'm probably not mentioning alot of it....

Although it's understandable considering you can't drop an F-Bomb on TV here... Much less an F-Nuclear War.. In a couple of recaps scattered throughout the broadcast when they show Richard failing you can hear the "CK!!" though

I just watched the "25 Reasons to Worship Ninja Warrior." One the things that irks me is that Shingo was not listed as one of the 25 reasons. He has competed in every tournament! He deserves to be one of the 25 reasons.

Levi:"f***!" (camera jerks in the direction of who said it and it pointed at Levi)
No kidding. That was hilarious though. G4 cut that part, and it bummed me out, and Shingo deserved a spot in that, so did Urushihara.

Nagano was 1. Announcers were 2. Mr. Octopus was 4. Yamada was 22. Same guys that did that NF 2010 rap did another one for 23 about obstacles (but they picked stupid ones). That's all you really need to know

G4 cut that part, and it bummed me out, and Shingo deserved a spot in that, so did Urushihara. Yuuji was in the top 25. He was grouped with the other Shin Sedai as No. 10. I'm not going to watch this ever so can someone list the 25 reasons? 25. Ninjas are Awesome 24. Jumping Spider 23. Brutal Obstacles (for some reason the Butterfly Wall was considered one lol) 22. Katsumi Yamada (for his ridiculous obsession with Sasuke) 21. Things You Don't Know (stuff like Midoriyama being a lot and not a mountain and other obscure things only Sasuke watchers would know as opposed to a Ninja Warrior watcher) 20. Cliffhanger 19. Anyone Can Win 18. Secrets of Success 17. Kazuhiko Akiyama (for being the first winner and he keeps continuing even though he's gradually becoming blind) 16. Ninja Girls (aka Kunoichi, Luci, Hibari) 15. Wipeouts 14. The Fans 13. Toshihiro Takeda (because it's Takeda, duh) 12. Soritatsu Kabe/Warped Wall 11. Against the Odds (aka showcasing clips of some of the comebacks) 10. Shin Sei/Shin Sedai/New Stars 9. Dedication 8. Americans (ANC obviously got the most airtime in this segment -- if any others were I didn't notice but then again I was out the room for most of it) 7. International Appeal (showing all the different names they use and some Stuart Hall sound-bytes from the UK version) 6. Ninja Fashion 5. Unforgettable Moments 4. Mr. Octopus/Kuramochi Minoru (only of the Trio of Fail to get a spot) 3. The Water (yes, the water which got help from the special effects department -- apparently there's a big silver head over the Sasuke logo at tournaments the cameras never seem to catch -- nice use of Kane's Final Stage fail though) 2. The Announcers (no love of Ichiro Furutachi makes me a sad panda) 1. Makoto Nagano
