Am I the only one concerned at how big they're making Sasuke 24? Ever heard the phrase "going out with a bang"? Unfortunately, I was thinking the same thing. I'm a bit worried about this. On the other hand, I'm excited about this. Also, I guess no PS#1 this year I have to wonder, what will become of Monster9? I mean, if Sasuke is gone after this one, considering there probably won't be a PS#1, what other shows are left? Doors is the only one I can think of...

Ummm... The kanji 月 preceded by a number means the month. 12月 means December. But anyway, they are not talking about the actual SASUKE show. It's referring to 本放送前の事前番組: a program that is going to air prior to the actual broadcast. These were the results they got the last time they did a most memorable moments thing on SASUKE Mania: lostinube.blogspot.com/2008/05/top-ten-sasuke-moments-as-chosen-by.html So the main new news from the update is that they are going to air a clip show in December prior to the actual broadcast, which in itself is exciting (especially since Japanese fans haven't seen certain clips for a while). But sorry, no actual taping or air date info. Thanks Ube! I'll fix it in a couple minutes. We all got it wrong before .. remember that stupid "October" thing we thought the last time? LOL Damn stupid Google translations... Appreciate the correction!

Sorry for the confusion.
According to the post:
Pre-Show: Sometime in December SASUKE: January 1st.
No confirmations as of yet. They are only asking for people to send in their favorite (only one) SASUKE moments (and the reason why).
If you are going to send one in you fill it out like this: First box: リクエストしたい名場面 (Request) Write in which SASUKE, competitor's name and which part of that SASUKE. 例 (Example) SASUKE 12 Katsumi Yamada 2nd Stage Disqualification SASUKE 15 Bunpei Shiratori Heat Exhaustion
Second Box: その理由は? (Reason) Why you chose that clip.
Third Box: メールアドレス (mail address) Your mail address.
Then click the gray box below all that.

Thanks Ube! I fixed it. So airdate for Sasuke is New Year's Day. (Boy I'm totally not going to sleep that night.. LOL) and that preshow thing is late December (makes sense). I'm sure we will hear more about it later as they sure up the dates. I made the changes on the blog.

Great it's on New Year's -- I don't go asleep until about 10-11 AM during that time anyway

Yay for mistranlation! I seriously thought it was on the 12th of Jan, it would've been one big cluster**** for me. Since it's on New Year's most of us should be of by then right? Pre show in December than Sasuke in January. That's not too far of.

Oh man... I'm not sure if I'm free on new years.
It depends on what time =x
I usually go to a lock in at my church. Though I may just watch it there, lol.
Hm... so usually they TAPE Sasuke about how long before the broadcast date? If someone knows that it may indicate when the record date will be.
December 15 maybe?
(With my luck, right during finals week)

Arsenette, usually how long does it take after recording date to broadcast date? Now that we know when it'll air we should be able to figure out a time when it'll record.
And is there a certain day they generally record on?
Just wondering.
And if 6 hours is true... oh god please don't be the last Sasuke xo
They keep going up in times. Soon it'll be a whole day event, 24 hours long!

Well they have been doing Monday's for taping but with the holidays it could be anytime. Usually it's more like 1 week to 1 1/2 weeks.. but they seem to be setting up a lot of crap for this.. so not sure. I'd say most likely that Monday before (December 21) but that is PURELY speculation.
The broadcast starts earlier at 16:45 to 17:15 (local Kanto - meaning Ube has to watch via the internet that first half hour) then they break for news.. then 6 hours straight of Sasuke.. wtf.. LOL

I suggest start learning to have 12 hour sleep nights so you wont collapse during sasuke, unless they're making a 2-2 1/2 hour preview show on the day it airs as well.

6 hours sounds like they're trying to end it and probably are setting them up for Kanzenseiha.. I mean look at what they did to stage 1 for 23.
On one hand this might be the best sasuke yet unfortunately it might be the last...

Wat.Aw man. If this is really the death of Sasuke, than 2009 is officially the worst year. Ever. No. Ever. The only year beating it, is 1968.

They are hedging their bets that someone is going to reach the Final Stage now that people have broken through. If not, this will just be a repeat of 20, the first four hour show where we had to watch half an hour of Levi clips to kill time.
And long variety programming is standard for that period. A lot of channel surfing going on and lots of competing live shows - from New Year's Eve till the end of the day there's a lot of new programming. I'm not expecting a very high rating for 24.
Oh, and they say six hours but there's going to be half an hour of news during the broadcast.

Then why'd they choose new years? That seems like a bad choice for a show trying to get back on it's feet.
